found a drop, bone of maghras, with a charge that apparently banishes souls in presence of Maelstrom. i dont know what this means.

Here's my copy of a post I made on vn about farming this guy.
I've done him a few times with 5. Myself (Healer) and my bomber team (3 SM and 1 enchanter).
Here is the tip: When you attack Mag he starts an alarm and all the Marks and other adds will come. The Marks are what make it so difficult, they are tough and ae a lot. There's a whistle that you pass on your way in, this is how to turn off the alarm. Have someone stand there ready to turn it off when you attack Mag. When you turn it off, most of the Marks will go home, you still might have to kill a few.
Here's how I do it. Drop a CT on Mag, that'll keep him busy. Soon as the alarm sounds, have the whistle person click it off and run back to the group. Take care of any Marks that are still around. Finally kill Mag. My bombers have greater focal mythirians and ML9 pets, it takes about 20 seconds to pbae Mag down.
Everone in the group gets the one time drop, the construct ring. Mag also usually drops a greater mythirian and a dreaded or two. Remains also drop each time. Not sure if anything else.

How far from the named is the whistle and how does it look like?

Maghras not sure this guy is 65 gotta be higher hes much harder then Cerebrus.
Cerebrus is a pushover and you have him as 70 ive done him with half a group.
This guy whiped our full group with no problem, he's deffinently not a pushover !
Also there not just 2 adds when you attack the doors behind him open up and the last count i had was 20 yellows and oj's befor we dropped ^^ !!
