Today I had one follow me around. It said it was going to follow me. I asked it 'why are you following me?'. It said 'As you command' It followed me around for a while, then I asked it again - 'why do you follow me?' It said it was bored with me and I could go now.. Anyone else have this happen?

To me the will o'wisp looks like it does here since it's not a light but a small guy with a light!

Look at the monster manual in the TSR game aD&D. Half of the EQ creatures are stright out of it. Half a million other games copy creatures out of it to. So who cares. So you guys are saying you wouldnt want to fight a dragon cuase its in EQ or whatever the hell else is out there. I say STFU WHO GIVES A F. =)
EQ vs. DAoC

Please people all fantasy genres will all look alike because they are all based on the same principals

MITHICAL CREATURES in this case, if they wanna change what these creatures look like its totaly up to them! it also kinda characterises the game, gives it its own identity. Its somehting that seperates DAoC from the typical steriotype.

PS> i play EQ
Maybe

They may look the way they do and not the way they should(a ball of light) because as with some of the other mobs in the game they reused graphics untill they get there own.
Finally....

Finally!!! Someone else who knows what a AD&D will 'o' wisp looks like. All medival RPG's follow D&D rules / monsters, thank you Gary Gygax!!!

AD&D / D&D : Actually when I first saw a wisp I am pretty sure I had the right impression where they got it from in EQ and that is Ad&d... or D&D now... The wisp is supposed to be a creature made of a ball of energy / magic... it can dim / increase it's brightness based on what it chooses and can use an electrical attack. The EQ wisp is much more accurate to the name... a wisp was always supposed to be a ball of light by both lore and d&d standards...

Dictionary 'Wisp': A thin or faint streak or fragment, as of smoke or clouds. (This could be also be light :)

Legend / Lore - It orginally killed many of it's victims by luring them deep into a swamp by legends... supposedly by the hypnotizing affect of their light...

Finally DAoC has not stayed true to any of these lore / legends / ideas / or meanings... :)

they will only aggro in the future if you see a faction message after killing 1

Who gives a rip if the name is the same. The graphics in DAoC kick EQ's ***** You must be a brains surgeon to realize it was copied, but you are wrong about from where. Where do you think EQ got there stuff. History, lore, legend, that's where.
Kinda copy?

It is a copy, except it's been changed. After playing DAoC, I've noticed they have taken EQ creatures (which were ripped off from some other RPG) and just changed them alittle bit.
aggro

This are perfect for me to solo right now. But they are neutral toward me and I'm not sure I want them to aggro on me in the future. Has anyone had trouble with these aggroing after killing several?
KInda copy
