Dialog from quest:
Speak with Madissair at loc=12142,29102,2425 dir=65 Camelot Hills in Cotswold Villiage.

You approach Madissair and inquire about his apparent interest in Serawen. Madissair appears to have trouble maintaining eye contact after your question and his cheeks slowly turn red.

Madissair says, "H-how did you know? Someone told you, didn't they? Of course they did, or else you wouldn't be asking me about it. But, how did they know? I hope I'm not that transparent. If Arliss Eadig finds out, it'll be the [end of me]!"

Madissair says, "You won't tell Arliss, will you? I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of his apprentice tailors and I'd hate to be sent away because I fell in love with his daughter, [Serawen]."

Madissair sighs as he mentions Serawen's name.

Madissair says, "Don't think that he wouldn't! Since his wife passed away, Serawen is everything to him. He makes her stay upstairs when the apprentices are around, and with good reason. Imagine what it would be like if every apprentice lost his [heart] to her."

Madissair flashes an awkward smile.
Madissair says, "I just can't help it. It's not like I was trying to get her attention. Well, ok, I never had her attention. She doesn't know how I feel. She doesn't even know who I am. I only found out about her by [accident]."

Madissair says, "I'd forgotten that I left Arliss' shop one day with a pair of his scissors. As luck would have it, Serawen was helping her father finish up an order when I arrived with the scissors. That's when I first [saw her]."

Madissair says, "You probably don't believe in love at first sight, and I didn't, either, at the time. Without speaking a word to me, Serawen changed my mind. I kept finding reasons to stay late at the shop with the hope of seeing her [again]."

Madissair says, "I want to get to know her better, but I don't think she'd be interested in me. I'm only an apprentice tailor, after all, and a half ogre. I've come up with an idea, but I don't think I can go [through with it]."

Madissair grins.
Madissair says, "I can't approach her directly, but I've written a poem to express my feelings to her. The only problem is that I haven't figured out a way to deliver it anonymously. I want her to read it and know who I am, but I'm afraid she won't like it, or me. I'll gladly pay you if you would be willing to deliver it for me. "

Will you help Madissair win Serawen's heart? [Level 5]
You have been given the Half Ogre, All Man quest.

Madissair says, "That's great! Let me find it for you. Please promise that you won't break the seal on it. The contents are private, and for Serawen's [eyes only]."

You receive the Sealed Love Poem from Madissair!

Madissair says, "Serawen lives with her father, Arliss Eadig, in Camelot. I've heard that she likes to visit the Garden of Artorus Rex, so you may be able to find her there. Please do not mention the errand to anyone else. Also, be on the lookout for [Geroth]."

Madissair says, "I've seen her walking with him in the evening. He's one of the most promising apprentice weaponsmiths and the son of one of the Guildmasters. I don't know if he's courting her, but I wouldn't be surprised. If you see Geroth, please don't mention my name. It's bad enough that he and the other apprentice weapon- and armorsmiths tease me for my choice of profession. 'What's the matter, are you too weak to lift a hammer?' they say. Sometimes they ask if my embroidery is the secret weapon that will give Albion the edge in this miserable war. Anyway, thank you again for agreeing to help me. Please return to me after you have delivered the poem."

[Step #1] Madissair has given you the Sealed Love Poem and asked you to deliver it to Serawen in Camelot without reading it. If you do wish to read Madissair's poem, delve the Sealed Love Poem for details on how to open it.
  • You'll find Serawen at loc=27808,19029,8467 dir=285 City of Camelot in the Garden of Artorus Rex. If you decide to read poem, you will find that it is poorly written and will be told to take the poem to Scribe Veral, the Camelot Castle, near the church to your right, before visiting Serawen

  • Serawen says, "Hello. I don't recognize you, Necromancer. Are you looking for my father, [Arliss]?"
Serawen says, "You're not? Then what brings [you here]?"
You tell Serawen that you have been sent to give her a gift from an anonymous admirer.
Serawen says, "A gift for me? How thoughtful! Do you have it with you?"

[Step #2] Deliver the poem to Serawen. She will want to know if it is from once you have given it to her.

You hand Serawen the poem and she glances at the seal, not recognizing it. She eagerly unfolds the poem, reading quickly. As her eyes move down the page, the corners of her mouth begin to fall. She does not quite frown, but it is clear that she had different expectations. Serawen chuckles nervously when she reads the last of the text.

Serawen says, "Thank you...I think. I appreciate the sentiment, but the poem is simply horrible. I don't mean to offend your employer, but I hope he didn't think he'd win my affection with this. He seems to be quite a desperate [man], or did [Geroth] put you up to this?"

    Selected desperate [man] here.

Serawen says, "I can't think of who might have sent such a thing. Most would-be suitors have the sense to identify themselves, but I can understand why the author of this, er, work might want to remain anonymous. Is it someone that I [know]?"

Serawen says, "What is his [name]?"
You tell Serawen that her father's apprentice, Madissair, wrote her the poem and asked you to deliver it to her.

Serawen says, "Madissair? I've no interest in that oafish Half Ogre. Who's ever heard of a Half Ogre tailor, anyway? Tell him that if he behaves like this again, I'll ask Father to send him away. Father has no need of apprentices with designs on his daughter."

Serawen shudders with disgust as she imagines life with Madissair and then snorts in disdain at the idea of a Half Ogre tailor.

[Step #3] You have delivered Madissair's poem. If she stops speaking to you, tell her you know the [name] of the person who sent it. After Serawen finishes speaking to you, return to Madissair in Cotswold.

Madissair says, "Ah, you're back! Did you deliver my poem to [Serawen]?"

Madissair appears as though he might have had more to say, though he stops speaking abruptly. He takes a moment to compose himself and then continues.

Madissair says, "So, she rejected me for Geroth? Can't she see that I'm not the sniveling coward Geroth calls me? I would treat her as a lady deserves to be treated. I'd make the finest dresses for her. She shouldn't be trapped in a [marriage] with that lying bully!"

Madissair appears as though he might have had more to say, though he stops speaking abruptly. He takes a moment to compose himself and then continues.

Madissair says, "I-I'm sorry, (your name). I let my feelings get the better of me. I let myself believe for too long that it was going to be just like the story of Arthur and Guinevere. I know you did your best, and without your help, I'd still love a woman who didn't [love] me."

[Step #4] If Madissair stops talking to you, ask him about the [magical orb] he offered you.

Madissair says, "I have a friend in Camelot who is training to be a spellcrafter. Occasionally, he brings me a prototype of something that he's working on. When I told him about my dilemma, he gave me a [magical orb] to help me decide what to do."

    You are awarded 892,000 experience!

Madissair says, "Here it is. I'd like you to have it as a reward for all your hard work. I'm sure Adnil will craft me another one, and perhaps, in time, I won't need it to make my decisions for me."

You receive the Adnil's Magical Orb from Madissair!
You are awarded 15 silver and some copper!
You have completed the Half Ogre, All Man quest!

      Adnil's Magical Orb

The directions that's this guy is right around the corner from a church is quite far off.

Once you enter into Camelot City from cotswald, you want to go west. This means you need to head as if your going to the throne room. (you can actually go through the garden and pass Serawin if you travel up the alley next to the church.) I believe the map has an indication of "Round Table" in the area you want to head to.

You need go to the area at the very top of the map. (may actually be labeled west.) There is a group of small rectangles that are little rooms. These rooms are at the very top of your map, or, as far west in Camelot City you can go. Go in through the front door and head to the room on the right. You should see him grinning like an idiot there.
    Hope this helps.

I also read the poem and set him up with his date. You will find the reward is better too. I think it's 20 silver, which is a slight increase.

me too, this is the Albion version of the Hibernian quest. and i did it both ways and the rose and new poem were much more romantic! I found the beautiful rose and nicer poem a much more sweet way, you had to know an ogre wasnt going to write a romantic poem, however the trouble i ran into was that it told me to find a scribe that none of the guardians knew of, in camelot, so i came here, and i was disappointed to not find my info here!

This quest is a lot more heartwarming if you break the seal and read the atrocious poetry. My paladin wouldn't stoop to such a thing, but my mercenary did, and it allowed him to get a rose to deliver with the poem as well as have the Camelot scribe doctor it. With these tasks accomplished Serawen was touched by the work and agreed to meet with the big lug.

Same reward I believe, but much more enjoyable ending...
