DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different

Sir Ambiz needs your help in hunting Nain Dwarves. Kill them and bring back proof for a minor reward. Just go straight S from the castle, towards the Abbey. There will be individuals scattered across the hill that con blue to a level 4. If you are higher level than that, turn and head west at the top of that hill. The valley you hit has two dwarven camps. Problem is that they group, and will call for help, so be careful.

Swaton Keep is in Snowdonia, not Humberton. The keep in Humberton is called Humberton Castle.

You should also talk to the guard by the tower in between the Dwarven camps, he'll give you the quest for Throat-Ripper, if you are high enough level

I once had a ring drop off of a dwarf brawler that I'm still wearing at level 9, and is still yellow to me. It raises hp, and strength and constitution. However, at every level the amount of stats it raises is one more point than the prevous level.
beware

I have been in that valley near humberton, there are scores of dwarves, most were grey to me, some were orange, they attack in force, there were dozens and dozens of graves there...

still cant do quest
# Oct 24 2001 at 1:41 PM Rating: Default
Hmm, is there a lvl limit on this quest?? I did this quest at 13, and the brawlers were grey, but nain was green to me. I have done this quest 2 times and 2 diff levels and I have gotten nothing loot wise, to turn in to him as proof, and nothing has "popped" up in my inventory either. When I got back to him in humberton keep, he gives me the qeust again.. whats wrong?

It's an everlasting quest, meaning you can do it over and over again, as long as the mob isn't gray to you. The drop isn't very frequent.

Be warned that the Dwarfs wil CFH. I also managed to loot a Gem Studded Long Sword from a Dwarven Brawler (lvl 5 i think). It is +2 to Slash skill. Merchants will offer you 12s for it. BUT it is worth MUCH more than that.

If you're a Slasher, do NOT sell this sword. It's red at the time, if you complete the quest immediately, but it's well worth waiting.

The "proof" that Sir Ambiz wants is a dwarven skullcap, which is sometimes dropped by dwarf raiders/pillagers/etc.

You can find the dwarfs (in surprisingly large numbers) in a valley southwest of Humberton (the same valley where the Throatripper quest starts). Be well aware that these dwarfs ranged from gray to orange to me at level 8.

The reward for this quest, at least in my case, was a gem that sold for 80 copper. Not bad money at that level.

Like he said, the "proof" is the "dwarf skullcap" item (with a skull icon) dropped randomly by any of those dwarves in that area. It is NOT a quest type item that goes directly in inventory, its a regular loot item that falls to the ground and you have to pick it up.

I'd say that the drop rate is about 20-30% on the skullcaps. Not all of them drop them, but they're not too rare either. The gem reward you get is a "cloudy green stone" (sell for 80cp) which I think is identical to the reward for the undead hog tails in the Camelot Hills area.
