DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Per Patch 1.61b: Ota's Quest, step 8 - Thanes can now turn in the pelt to Ota. Ota Yrling in Aegirhamn wants a griffon pelt. You need to talk to a Bergklan Pelterer (loc is 4k 45k Gripklosa Mountains also seen at loc=29k 58k) and if you don't have neutral faction, you need to get it by killing morvalts. After you talk to the Pelterer you will need to go back to Ota and she now wants something from a Griffon Loner. You can kill it or bargain with it. Bargain: If you bargain the loner will want a nose from a Hrimthursa Brute in Delling Crater. Return the nose and he will give you a kobold skin to give to Ota. Ota will will reward you with xp. Kill: Kill the loner and get a claw and a pelt. Return them to Ota and get your reward. Most get a shield for this path. As a Savage, in completing the quest by giving the Nose to the Griffon - I received a Hand to Hand weapon instead of a Cloak, or shield. Received some exp and 15 gold. Dialog: [Step #2] Bring bag of trade items to a bergklan pelterer in the Gripklosa Mountains. Make sure you are on neutral terms with them. Bergklan pelterer can be found at 4591,42781. The bergklan pelterer says, "What?" give bag of bartering goods to bergklan pelterer The bergklan pelterer says, "Here, take this. Mammoth pelt. Should be good for you, kep you warm, well made." [Step #3] Return the pelt to Ota. Ota Yrling says, "Did you get the pelt Agrisi?" give mammoth pelt to Ota. Ota Yrling says, "Ah, well, let me take a look at it. Oh this will do. It is a simple, primitive style. It will certainly stand out amongst the crowd. Oh! Especially when it's made of griffon fur! I can't wait! Alright, now, go find a griffon. You can find some griffon loners in the Gripklosa Mountains. That's the griffon pelt I want. When you kill the griffon, take the pelt to the pelterer. When the pelterer is finished, bring it to me, and I will reward you. Here, take part of the reward now, as a sign of good faith." [Step #4] Hunt the Gripklosa Mountains for a griffon loner. If the griffon inquires, speak of [Ota]. (I found the griffon directly SSE of bjarken on the hill with the mylings to be the easiest to get close enough to talk to) The griffon loner says, "What are you doing? Who sent you out here? Why do you hunt me?" Say Ota. The griffon loner say, "Ota. Ota. Ota. I know Ota. Ota is a hunter of what she calls exotic creatures. She is a fool Many have come for my pelt. Many have died. We can make a [bargain] Shaman, or shall you [die], as well?" click [bargain] The griffon loner says, "I hate hrimthusas. They bother me. I will forgive this act, if you kill a hrimthusa brute for me. Bring me the nose of a brute as proof, and I will reward you. You can find them in northwest part of the place you call Delling Crater." [Step #5] Find a hrimthusa brute and kill it. They are found in the northwest portion of Delling Crater. hrimthusa brutes can be found in delling crater at /loc 19000, 9000. [Step #6] Take the giant nose back to the griffon loner. The griffon loner says, "You killed a giant. Here. It is the skin of a kobold hunter. Take this to Ota. Tell her I've many like it, and do not need more. But if she sends me hunters, I will gladly oblige her. You may keep the trinket taken from this fool, as a reward." give giant nose to griffon loner. You recieve a kobold skin from the griffon loner! You are awarded 15,728,640 experience! You recieve a Cloak of Runes from the griffon loner! [Step #6] Bring the kobold skin to Ota, and tell her the [griffon has many more]. tell Ota "griffon has many more" (I did this before giving her kobold skin. Not sure if you can give her skin first, but she won't take it after you speak to her). Ota Yrling says, "You are insufferable! Reward? You wish a reward? For this betrayal? How dare you! I will have my griffon pelt! I will! As for you! Out of my sight!" You are awarded 20,971,520 experience! You have finished Ota's Quest quest. Rewards: Boned Fist - Savage Griffin Claw -- Thane Griffin Pelt Shield -- Warrior Griffin's Impervious Pelt -- Skald Pelted Fury -- Shaman and Runemaster Hunter's Main -- Hunter Griffin Talon -- Valkyrie Griffin Totem -- Bonedancer Cursed Pelted Fury -- Warlock lvl 30 received 1,816,544 experience and 15 gold Rewards: |
