Per patch 1.75b:
- Nenet's Research - This quest is now geared towards players between levels 21 and 31.

Scholar Nenet, at the Lethantis Association, is conducting research into a new line of mind spells. However, Nenet needs a couple components for her spell to work properly. From an oak man she needs magical acorns. These she warns are very rare find. The second item are the druid's wand of oak. Nenet cautions that only druids carry the wand not seers or sacrificers.

The Oak Men are far to the east near the Salisbury plains north of the main road. The Druids are found concentrated in the southeast of the forest. reward is coin and experience.

My 21 Paly recieved 2 bubbles exp. Do the mobs in order: Oak Man first then the druids. Find the Oakmen just north of the road to the Salisbury Plains. I only had to kill 2 before getting the bunch of acorns. The druids can be found very close to Keltoi. Look for a yellow druid (some were orange at 21) and pulll it away from the others if possible. Only had to kill 1 for the wand. Worth the effort, especially if you're in the area anyway (21-30 task ID, paly epic etc).
uhhhh, ok

I'm lvl 30 and was just offered this quest... and the pop-up lists it as lvl 21??? Judging buy the previous posts on here (granted the most recent is 3 years old), this quest is for lvl 10ish so why the hell am I'm I lvl 30 and looking at Scholar Nenet with a yellow circle under her feet?

A few patches back Mythic decided they wanted to try to breathe some life into the original zones of DAOC. They moved the start point for everyone to Cotswold and they made the zones more difficult the further out you go. If used to be that most of Camp forest and avalon Marsh were grey to someone in their 20s, with a few excpetions (the heretical hermit comes to mind.

They updated this quest and most of the other quests in this region to be for older players. The one problem they haven't resolved yet are quests from outside the region that have you kill a named monster, that is still the level of the old quest but is surrounded by purple-eyed monsters, which makes these a real pain sometimes.

You lot need to stop doing quests that basically con grey and complaining about getting no XP. Doing this quest at level 10, while requiring a bit of running, gave me 20,000 XP, more or less, which translates to 10% of the level. The Oak Men and Druid conned blue.

Not all quests are about mad loot and special items. This one is, as someone else mentioned, exploring and experience. It is only worth anything if you do it at the proper level - if you are above 10, it is pointless.

If I ever get ahold of the Mythic employee who created this quest, I'm going to curb him then blow a wad on his pony-tail.
help with locations

well after hours of searching with the help of this page i finally found the druids (the oak men were easy in comparison). The thread below is pretty acurate. the only differece is that u want the groove right after the path to the left. If u stand where the path breaks off from the road, head DIRECTLY south over a little hill and u will find said groove.

p.s. i think that forest is enchanted. I could have sworn i took the correct path 3 or 4 times and ended up at a different place each time.

I have just completed this quest and can offer the following advice: the oak men have to done first. To find some, take the road that leads NE from Caer Ulwych, keep going until you reach the edge of the Camelot Hills, then turn N for a couple of hundred yards. To find the druids, take the SE road from Caer Ulwych. Keep going until you see a path go off to the left - don't take it, keep going. The next grove on the left only has pixies and dryads in, the grove you want is next to it, further from the road to the left.
Changed in patch?
# Jan 11 2002 at 3:38 AM Rating: Decent
Searching in the grove as mentioned below, I find druid sacrificers, filidh sacrificers, and devout filidhs. In a nearby stone ring is the Green Witch surrounded by mindless minions. Were these minions once druids until the last patch? I haven't given up yet and will continue to search for a druid.
Druids, not Filidh
# Jan 08 2002 at 1:07 PM Rating: Default
It's not filidh's you want to kill, it's an actual "druid". Head past Ulfwych towards Avalon Marsh. About a minute down the road you'll see a wierd "grove" on the left. There's druids there.

Personally this quest wasn't worth doing beyond getting people frustrated, showing folks where mobs were, and displaying the fact that there is a difference between a filidh and a druid.
nerfed?

I have been killing filidh and devout filidh just south of Caer Ulfwych and no staff. Am I killing the right mobs?

If you look close to the entrance to Keltoi Dungeon there are a couple of driuds you can kill for the staff...

Duped Item
# Dec 15 2001 at 10:28 AM Rating: Default
I did this quest and upon completing it she duped one of the items in my inventory!

If only I would have know that earlier I wouldn't have gotten some lame quest item duped (was carring mostly junk stuff at the time).

I don't know if this will change or is a bug, but worth knowing if you are doing this quest.
Great for Minstrel
# Nov 27 2001 at 12:17 AM Rating: Default
I performed this quest at 11th level Minstrel. It only netted me 2 silver and some experience, but it forced me to utilize my stealth and pull spells better to acquire both items. Running right up to both targets would have attracted a lot of attention. The druids referenced above were tightly grouped and stunning yell pulls had to be done patiently. Neither produced the desired item the first time only the second time.

You can find both of the items south of Caer Ulfwych. Oak man on the hill (watch for the Goblin magicians) and Druids near the ruins as stated earler (watch the leader)

They say that the acoms are rare. I don't know if I was lucky but I got them on my second kill. I am now currently working to get the wand oak from the druids.

Where the items drop
# Oct 30 2001 at 10:55 PM Rating: Default
The oak men walk through the woods, you can find some near the Sylvan Goblin hunter camp, and the Live Druids are like 50 feet from the Keltoi Dungeon entrance. About 2-3 and a rare npc ev... something I can't remember. Easy quest at lvl 16 for a wiz.
Druid location
# Oct 30 2001 at 10:42 AM Rating: Decent
Ok, I ran around for hours looking for the druids. The druids you are looking for are located in a grove SE of Caer Ulfwych. If you take the road that goes south from Caer, which eventually leads to the swamp...you'll see 3 groves on the left side of the road as you go south on it. The first grove should be the druids. You want a "druid", not a "druid seer" or a "druid sacrificer". Hope that helps. Good hunting.

Total and utter waste of your time. Dont bother with this quest.
night vs. day
# Oct 29 2001 at 8:44 AM Rating: Decent
The undead druids are the druid, but at night... as a sorcerer i am forced to wait till daylight to get me a pet :).
where are those druids?
# Oct 28 2001 at 8:31 PM Rating: Default
i've been running around Camp all day and can only find the undead variety of druid- they dont drop the needed wand. there the heck are they?
Darn Druids
# Oct 28 2001 at 11:09 AM Rating: Default
I haven't done an exhaustive search, but I'm sure having problems finding a plain old druid. I assume one would spawn around the area that the other druid sacs and filidhs patrol but so far I have had no luck. Of course you can't through a stick without hitting an oak man (hehe pun).
sub-par use of time
# Oct 26 2001 at 2:28 PM Rating: Default
At level 12, I found this quest to be both soloable and not worth my while (mistrel). The xp reward was quite low for a lvl 12, finding the right mobs was a pain (for someone who knows where they are, this would be less painful, but there's still quite a bit of running involved); and the cash reward was only 2 silver.
perhaps...
# Nov 19 2001 at 10:13 AM Rating: Decent
the intention of this quest is not so much to make anyone rich in coin, but rather knowledge. Knowledge of geography, as well as self. A wise man knows from whence patience cometh.

Just a thought.
