04.06.05 Per Patch 1.75:
- Scura tragedia - The summoning circle has been moved to the Salisbury Plains. It is west southwest of Stonehenge Barrows.

Characters that were created after Patch Version 1.79 do not receive this Epic quest.

Must do the Wisdom quest first.

Master Vismer gives you a signet ring and ask that you talk with the scribe Eril, a vassal of Lord Adribard. You will be talking to Eril regarding the lost knowledge of Necromancy.

Eril is found in Adribard's retreat. He stands on top of the tower gazing over the swamp. Target him and ask regarding the undead. He tells you of the list of wizards who have studied necromancy.

Scribe Veral is in Camelot. He informs us that we must find the one who knows the location and incantations for the ritus a potential. We must find Brother Darren in the Vetusta Abbey. Scribe Veral can be found west of the main castle in Camelot.

For the abbey leave Camelot through the north gate and head west. Not to far distant is the compound. Ask Brother Darren of the ritual, but first give him Vismer's ring. This will influence him to tell you of what he knows. He indicates that you must summon a spirit from a circle of stones. This spirit will ask a single question that must be answered. Darren does not know the question or the answer. However, he doesn't know which stone ring must be used. He directs you to Olorustos at the Lethantis Association.

Olorustos indicates to look in a lost tower in Cornwall. Undead speak of necromancers in their mist. There is a summoning circle within a lost tower. The Summoning Circle in Salisbury Plains, loc=11959, 44762. During the night speak "proximare spiritus nonorare". Then ask the spirit of her "list". She will ask a riddle of you before she continues.

The Spirit of the unspoken says, "You seek the unspoken list! We have seen your venture into the darkness, and kow that which keeps my brethren from peace. I shall read the list only should you speak unto me the answer to a [riddle]."

The Spirit of the unspoken says, "The shadow of life passes us, as does the passage of time. When day turns to darkness, time fades into eternity. What then becomes of life?"

The answer to the riddle is "life becomes death."

The Spirit of the unspoken says, "Your words echo within the ears of my brethren, Wizard! Remember what you have learned and do not speak unto others what you hear this day."

The Spirit of the unspoken says, "Vislun, Bernor, Ignuixs, Ablivmu, Arnor, Blaise, Merlin, Ganieda, Viviane, Nimue, Morgana, Elaine, Garlon, Annowre, Byanne"

Once you answer the riddle you must return to Camelot and speak with Master Vismer. He asks for this ring and list to be given back to him. However, he does not require the actual list of wizards given to you by the spirit.

After visiting the scribe in Adribard's Retreat, he told me to speak with King Constantine. Would anyone happen to know where this king happens to reside?

You need to find Scibe Veral not king constantine if you read and Veral is in Cam do a /where Scribe Veral after you have selected a gaurd they will point you in the right dorection
2 towers near catacombs

I think many people get confused with this quest. There are two tower close to the catacombs. There is a broken tower - close to the horse driven path - this is the WRONG tower (you will be attacked by a caster with his souls here at night).
From the horse ridden road - you must go past the catacombs (southern direction I believe). There you will see an unbroken tower on the other side of the hill, speak hear at night.
I must have helped at least 3 people who thought the broken tower was the correct area. Hope this helps . . .

I found Vismer in the Academy and right clicked on him and he gave me some text about travel being good, but no hyper-text to get a quest. I'm a level 22 theurgist. Is it that theurgists don't get this quest, or is my level too high?

Is the signet needed for Minstrel doing this quest?
I didnt notice Vermin had given the ring to me,
and there is no message about the ring in my quest journal also.

However, Brother Darrel just said I am too young(I am Lv16) to do this quest, so I am stucked at step#3 now.

There are lots of purple mobs around. You might consider to travel in daylight and wait in the tower.

Here's my question: how, as a character in my high teens, do I even get to the tower? You have to run a gauntlet of high level baddies. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting some purple mob with an attitude who wants to turn you into chutney. I turn back every time. Am I missing something?

I did this at level 18.
You can avoid the purples.
You can also take the road that leads
from the main path from Cornwall to get
close enough to get to it (just avoid
the skeletal warriors and the man eating
ant thingies =0) ).
Once at the abandoned tower, nothing will
hurt you as it was mob free for me.
Once it was midnight (game time of course),
I recited the phrase and she spawned.

Go to the Catacombs and from there head NE ,,,there is a tower out there.
Go inside and say "proximare spiritus nonorare" and the spirit will appear in a second or two.
It's gotta be at night. I stayed inside here all day and did not get killed. So then say "list" and the answer to the riddle is "we all live in shadows". Now run to Cornwall Station and get a horse to Cayer Ulfich. I jumped off @ Avalon Marsh and got a horse to Sauvage. As soon as you cross the bridge after Sailsbury, jump off, /bind and run NW to Cotswold, edging north of Pryden Keep. Vismer is in Academy on 2nd floor. I got a Flute Of Displacement.. green to me at 26. If i didn't already have a flute from Barrows, this would be welcome. I'll give it to some young minnie. So that is the lvl 15 Quest. If you check your says come back when you are lvl 20... holy cripes he wants dust from a Skeltal Leigionarre. BBL....

After visiting Master Vismer again he tells you to talk to Master felroy (sp) in cotswald inn, he talks and explains what it happening tells you the magic words, and tell you to report by to Vismer. Vismer then tells you to go to Cornwall kill Favius and go to the summoning circle (same one as earlier) and repeat the words. This closes the "node" and I've not completed this portion yet, but I'll let you know
Riddle & druid eye

The answer to the riddle for lvl 15 quest is easy enough: "we live in shadows."

For lvl 20, you'll notice it says to go south and east of West Downs. Go to West Downs and directly southeast over the ridge is a stone ring with fildth. Kill 1 and you get druid eye.

For minstrels, lvl 15 quest yields nice flute with stats, for lvl 20, pair of chain legs with stats.

The Druid's eye can actually come from a filidh, not just a druid...thus I suggest killing whatever spawns within the circle SE of West Downs. This is the advice another fellow gave me and it worked out well, the steps thereafter leading to a nice reward ;)

Did anyone manage to write down the names on the list given. It was just something that peaked my curiousity and tried to write the names down but before I finished the message went Poof! .. it only dawned on me awhile later I could have just taken a stupid screen shot DOH! *smacks himself in the head*
I just wanted to see if I could find the npcs on the list just for curiousity's sake.. If anyone has a screen shot of it could you send it to or post it here. =P

Upon hitting 20 this quest continued for me ... after re-visiting Vismer in the academy I went and killed a skeleton legionaire as requested i came back gave him the dust and was told to go to the druid circle on sals plains and obtain a druids eye .. ive killed several druids no joy getting the eye any ideas?

well i figured out why quest kept going its the first step in the academy epic another one avery 5 lvls with good loot...but stuck at same spot cant get an eye off of the druids( any help you can give i will come back and check for your respnse)geldaulf/22 minstel albion igraine

im not sure whats up but i have a 7th step to the scura Q and I have the earth band already. The 7th step says "learn the words that will manifest the roman undead". From what it looks like hear that step is not included, whats it mean? Can anyone help?

There is another tower, a broken one, along the road further down. There is a nasty undead mob and friend that appear at night and will kill you in a heartbeat. Be sure the tower you are in is on the same side of the road as catacombs and is NOT broken. Broken one does not give the "you are entering summoning ring" message.

I didn't see any text when I got the quest from Vermin or whatever his name is. I know now that that ring I had that I couldn't sell I got from him.

I get stuff that's much lower level in drops that sells for 0 and 1 cp all the time, I figgered this was another useless item I got on a drop. So I destroyed it to make room in my limited inventory.

Now I read the spoiler here and see that I need to give Brother Darrel a ring that I'm assuming was the "Gold Signet Ring" (note the lack of the person's name in the item name) which I no longer have. I cannot get another ring from the Scribe I started the quest with and I cannot get Brother Darrel to talk to me. Quest is entirely broken for me now.
