As you all kn ow by know much of the names, kocations etc in Midgard are from Scandinavia and so is this.
Vrede = Wrath (swedish)
As well as the following:

Vanern Swamp = Vänern is a swedish lake
Other names:
Tomte = It could have several different meanings: Santas helpers, gnome...but in DAoC I think its some gnome/goblin mix.
Svartalv = Dark elf
Nacken = Näcken, a mythological creature, a seminaked man in the river playing a violin, connected to midsummer
Jordande (Named host of the earth) = Earth Spirit
Skogsfru = directly translated it means forest lady but well thats not entirely correct. She's a cruel, mythological creature of the northern forests. Seduces men and lure them into the forest so that they never find their way out again. She has no back, just a black hole. She is basically a sirene of the forest altho she doesnt sing hehe
Sveawolf - well Svea Rike is an very old name for Sweden - Svea Rike = Kingdom/Realm of Svea
THere are numerous others, but I dont have the enrgy to look them up right now...these are just the names I could think of atm.

Playing on Guinevere as well, I encountered this little annoyance, but managed to get away. I counted a good 12 or so headstones in his path, which happens to be right through Newbie Central.

I was walking down between Haggerfel and Mularn, this guy came out of the mountains on the south side of the road and jumped me. At first I thought he was a Troll wearing red armour (at a distance), then I noticed (quickly) that he was aggroing on me. Totally wasn't expecting him.
My char is a L11 Norseman Shadowblade, I took him out with poisoned weapons and a few well-placed Assaults .. but he just about got me. Conned yellow to my L11 char, so I'd say L11 is fair enough too.
Didn't drop anything, guess he's a quest mob and you have to kill him at the right time. :)

It drops a lvl 9 magic item to put jwlry spot its a Mystical beast eye gives 2or 3 to quickness rare drop i supose i have killed him numeral times and he has only droped it once. :)

Hill cats on hill near SW end of Lake Mularn also drop the Mystical Beast Eye (+3 Quick, Jewelry slot). It's a rare drop on the cats also, but since there are so many on the hill, you'll have a pretty good chance of getting one if you hunt there.

Saw this thing tonight near the mularn guard tower moving southward, very close to the newbie area, would have been messy if it was peak time on Guinevere.
