maxing dirt skills first...

how are you handling the aggo issue? when I solo a higher con monster, I get the mob on me after about three or four earth pets.

I have found it best to send an earth pet, cast earthen power on it as it runs, send another pet, another earthen power, another pet, another earthen power... etc.. occasionally, I'll throw in an ice DD, or a friction, but those seem to cause just enough agro to get the monster on me.

I'm only level 6 yet, but once an orange or red is on me, I'm doomed. advice?

Hi, do you have any air pets??? they work great. they will stun your enemy holding them in one place. i suggest that you get some air pets to hold what ever you are hunting in place. cast many at once though, with a couple of earth and ice here and there, stand back and nuke.

I have a 12 Theurgist, I have put every training point into earth from the start simply because I wanted to test a theory. Theory being that the earthen pets last longer, seem to hit harder and hold aggro better than the other two types, which would make them my best bet for soloing things way above my head. (I am not much of a grouper unless absolutely necessary.)

Well it worked. I have been able to solo Orange++ and Red+ since level 7 (Red++ and above are still a bit out of my league). The takedown style is simple, Ruby Shield, Earthen power (just incase), and throw 3 Earth pets at a blue, 4 at a yellow, 8 at an orange, all you can at a red and be prepared to melee a few whacks. 95% of the time I can take down a high orange or low red mob without ever getting hit. But there is that 5% where sprint comes in handy ;)

Just my 2cp

-- is Green
- is Blue
Yellow has nothing
+ is Orange

+++ is Purple

And stop saying Red++!!! IT'S THE SAME THING TWICE IN A ROW!!!!! AARGH

Direct Damage specs

I was looking at the stats on the DD spells aparently the second highest DD spell has a HIGHER mana damage ratio than the highest level DD. Is this correct? From my experiances with MMORPS and most RPG the higher level damage spell you have the better mana damage ratio it will have. If you dont beleave me just go the the spell take the damage level and divide that by the mana cost. If these numbers are correct then that could change how I would make my templet becouse my past experiances with this style of game is that the better the mana damage ratio on DDs the better the DD but now with the RVR aspect maybie being able to kill much faster is worth the extrah mana cost.

Those dd numbers are incorrect, whether they are the base dmg orjust plain wrong remains to be seen, but if you specialize in this line of spells you will see far more damage from the spell for the same mana cost, thus achieving that beautiful mana to dmg ratio you are accustomed to.

Can I ask a question I have a level 8 theurgist, and right now I have skill of three in 7 in wind, 3 in earth and 3 in cold. I only have the air pets, no earth or cold, and from what I can tell I should. When I go to character builder on another site, it says I should have all three pets. I have made this character over 3 times now, and want to play one, but I mean what the heck why dont i have the other specialization spells like I should.
With my cabalist I have spec spells from all three specializations.

You need to get to spec level 5 for both the cold and earth spec's to have them show up. Then you'll have all the pets

Mixing pets works fairly well. I use an Earth pet then Air pet, then Debuff. That will kill most blues. For yellows add one more Earth and a DD Orabges add about 2 pets and be reaady to get hit a bit. I have not tried a red yet.

Pet Duration
# Oct 29 2001 at 12:48 PM Rating: Default
"Pets" are timed. They cannot be commanded: you must target a creature, and throw the pet at the target. It attacks only that target, and dies after (20/25/30) seconds (if it has not died already from damage).

The only limit to the number of active "pets" is the amount of mana you have to cast them. I have had 9 at one time with my 20th Theurgist.
Sprites

The Earth Sprites last far longer , however the Air sprites seem to be able to stun the aggro on you and stop it from reaching you.

They last for 20 seconds ( the air sprites, the others last 25 and 30 seconds )

I was just wondering when it says temp. pet summoned does that mean that they have a certain duration and then despawn or does that mean til they die from a mob killing them?
