Tradeskills

The problem with potions is that they don't stack and take up so much room in our backpacks. I have several crafters at legendary right now, but I will tell all that the best thing to do is get a group and all train in a different skill so you have all aspects available to build your characters to the best of everything.

I am at 851 in alchemy skill now and looking for where I can find my next two metals, Netherium and Arcanium. Also, the ingredients for making the trophy potions. I have ridden and teleported all over the place, looking for merchants who might sell these items. Of course, I also need to get out and make a few platinum to continue my progress.

Selling
# Apr 20 2003 at 1:08 PM Rating: Decent
You really cant sell anything in alchemy except for procs for a while. Sure some people might want some potions, but procs are your bread and butter. Procs and reverse procs are what youll want to advertise through broadcast, b/c everyone wants procs, their just sweet. And when mythic gives alchemy the ability to put glow effects on weapons, you know the demand for that will be high. Want to make money after u get to 8 or 900, do spellcrafting.

I have to disagree with this, but maybe it's just a server or realm thing...

I make most money from procs, without a doubt, but I sell more potions, especially power pots...

The reason I think most don't bother with potions is that they haven't used them, or found a use for them. I started off by sitting in DL giving power and heal pots away 5 at a time to some of the mid-level 40 guys, and now I get fed up with them /sending me :)

Some think they aren't worth the money, to be fair, but I got myself a good customer base by doing this to start with...

Can Savages train in Alchemy?
# Feb 20 2003 at 12:14 PM Rating: Decent
I took my 21 kobold savage to Jordheim to try and become an alchemist. I talked to trade master and it said Alchemy is not available to savages but every site I go to says savages can train it, am I doing something wrong or are all these sites giving out false information?
Why isn't there a market in potions
# Feb 17 2003 at 12:49 PM Rating: Decent
I am a mid-level alchemist, and have tried to sell my wares without success. It seems like there isn't much of a market in potions, especially power and healing, like I would expect.

Does anyone have advice on how to make money off my potions? Or do I just have to wait until I can make procs and effects on items...
Why isn't there a market in potions
# Jan 19 2007 at 4:10 PM Rating: Decent
There is a market in potions, but most people wisit the housing areas when ever they need anything.. U cant make alot of money on potions, but some!
I usually fill up my consignment merchant with buff potions and power potions, and they sell within 2 days, especially buff potions, concidering not all have a buff bot!
So my advice to u would be; get a house! that makes it alot easyer!
Should I do Alchemy or spellcrafting
# Dec 05 2002 at 6:41 PM Rating: Default
I would like to know which is better Spellcrafting or Alchemy? please reply.

neither is better. they are 100% different.

If you want to make poisons alchemy is better.
If you want to put stats on an item Spell Crafting is better.
If you want to put procs on weapons alchemy is better.
If you want to put skills on gear Spell Crafting is better.
If you want to put reflexive properties on armor alchemy is better.
if you want to put resists on gear Spell Crafting is better.
If you want to put charges effects on items alchemy is better.

It isnt a question of what is better. It is a question of what do you want to be able to do.
