Why dont i have Return Blade
# Aug 06 2004 at 10:37 AM Rating: Decent
Im currently a lvl 19 Ranger using Blades. Ive just received the Lunging Blade Skill, But it says it has a required opening of Return Blade, which I DONT HAVE!I'm very confused, as im not sure as to how i could have " missed " getting it. Anyone have a clue?

I have the same problem on my level 14 Warden. I did have another warden with that same name and erased it and rerolled, and I also did respec him from blunt to blades.

Dunno if those are any link to the problem, but when I appealed it I only got an auto-response that it had been referred to the devs as a bug and that I should wait and look at patch messages for a fix....
What is "Side" note on glowing blade?
# May 31 2004 at 3:06 PM Rating: Decent
Glowing blade says it is "Side" tactically. What is that? Secondly, is there a place on this site where I can look that up?
thanks.

I have a level 23 HERO and I like to go to BG 1 with him, but i'm not really too good at it. A scout 3 shot me before I could get to him. I also cant melee a Infiltrater even if he doesn't get his PA off!!! Do hero's get better at Realm versus Realm later in the game? My HERO is also full Sheild and Blades speced. Thank You

Blunt or Blade?
# Nov 12 2002 at 6:05 AM Rating: Decent
Hi, could get some pointers on which skill to choose for wardens? I prefer blades cuz they look more cool 8) but blunt has bonus dmg against alot of armour types like plate, chain. But its harder to find good blunt weapons compared to blades. If I go into blunt I will only put 20 points to get Force of might, but if I go into blades, I will put 39 points, so I can get Fire blade and spectrum blade. So which is better? If blunt weapons are str based then wat stat is blades based on?

Thanks in advance!

Change in styles
# Sep 02 2002 at 3:23 AM Rating: Default
The lvl 44 style is changed as a follow-up on Dancing Blade.

The lvl 50 style is changed as a follow-up on Revenging Blade.

This needs to be updated on this site. The change has been in the game for 3 or 4 months already.
Hope this helps

Stick with blunt weapons till the new patch comes out. Then respec your guy to blades if that what you want to use. All weapons have their good side and bad side. But armors are more vulnerable to blunt then to blades.

Plate Chain Scale Reinf Stud Leath Cloth
T High Vuln Low Low High High Neut
C Vuln Low High Vuln Vuln Low Neut
S Low High Vuln High Low Vuln Neut

Vuln = vulnerable
High = high resist, etc.
T = Thrust, C = Crush, S = Slash

This is the armor vulnerabilities for the new patch. Just stick with blunt till the new patch then respec if you would like, but don't start blades now. It would be a waste of points.

It does matter what bow you use ... cause of the way the bows are made there are bows that hit harder then athers and there are bows that shot greater distances then ather .

Well , your ( Hunter ) is a ranger in hiby land and rangers are very hard to lvl cause they get hardlyin groups but they ROCK in rvr . And enchanters get easyer in groups and rock in rvr as well not as much as rangers but they are a good rvr class too and easyer to lvl thought . But both classes cant take many hits and will die very quickly by bigger monsters (mobs) or in rvr

Glowing Blade
# Mar 02 2002 at 12:47 PM Rating: Default
Although I have this style I rarely use it. In battle when mobs move it is far too difficult to position so it is to the side. I either fail or get "not in view" and waste the attack - sometimes solo for a cycle or two. I just use taunting blade and wait for return and lunging blade which seem much better. Am I missing something? Do others use this style effectively frequently and if so how do you position yourself right the first time? The higher styles don't seem to buy too much more considering high fatigure cost or needing to be chained etc. Obviously if you are mainly a tank then you MAX this anyways. Any input appreciated.

L22 Warden with 12 in blades and trying to Max Nurture but wanting to fight SOMEWHAT effectively :)

you use it to either pull or use it in groups when you can get a clear side
Increased damage?
# Feb 05 2002 at 6:49 PM Rating: Default
I'm a Warden and wondering how much spec is worth putting in blades. My focus is nurture but I also help the tanks. Does increasing blade spec increase the damage of all the spells? Alot of the spells need block first, from working on the side, I don't get alot of that. So is it worth putting lots of points in this? I'm just not sure if the damage will increase on say glowing blade by putting more points in. Ideas?
Return Blade
# Jan 24 2002 at 10:03 PM Rating: Default
Return blade works after BLOCKS, and BLOCKS alone. What might have confused you guys is that you ussually hit the enemy whenever you use it after blocks and parries regardless, and the last word in the message is ..........perfectly" and that may make you think it works after parries and blocks, but its only blocks. It says you fail to perform your return blade perfectly. Just a thought. If it sincerely and truly works after parries after you try this, then I'm glitched and i need this fixed.
RE: Return Blade
# Feb 12 2002 at 5:27 AM Rating: Default
Aye. And it gives you the chance of opening a large chain of styles If you're fast enough: lunging, kinetic, prismatic. This will make you win the most fights against blues and yellows. And this includes a stun, so you can save your endurance since you not need a shield stun:)

Scale armor
# Jan 18 2002 at 6:34 AM Rating: Default
Do I need Blades skill to increase my ability to wear better armors like reinforced or scale, if I need then which level for scale? If I dont need how do I get scale ability then?
RE: Scale armor
# Feb 04 2002 at 4:48 PM Rating: Default
You will automatically gain the ability to wear scale at a certain level depending on your class. You can't train it or anything.
Error
# Jan 14 2002 at 7:07 PM Rating: Default
Currently the level 44 Prismatic Blade style does NOT require Spectrum Blade as an opening, but rather Kinetic Blade, which makes it a chain that works of block.

I have no idea why all websites has this error.
Taunting blade

Can anyone tell me if there's a benefit to using Taunting Blade other then to pull a monster off someone else when in a group?

Thx - Afrey

It gives you a slight damage bonus, but other than that, no.

Is the blade skill a base skill upon which celtic dual and critical strike are dependent? Or can a character neglect it and still retain high use of these skills? Please Advise.

Blade damage calculator
# Nov 27 2001 at 1:28 PM Rating: Default
So how is blade damage calculated anyway? I've heard that 2/3 of max skill points = 75%-125% damage and max skill points = 100%-125% damage. What does that mean exactly?
return blade
# Nov 26 2001 at 10:28 AM Rating: Default
dont u guys think its pretty hard to know when u blocked a hit, is there a easy wasy so i can see the block more easier
so i can use return blade more effectively?
RE: return blade
# Apr 25 2002 at 3:30 PM Rating: Default
One of the main problems I've found with any of the follow up styles on a perfect block, is
1) Lag - not much can be done
2) Weapon to fast.

I am a level 24 hero and have a sword that is so fast, I rarely have enough time to reply to the "block" sound or even watch for the "perfect" in the system mesage board. What I have been doing is on the styles like the return blade and horizon blade, I try to anticipate the block. I have trained so much in shields that I can block a lot. The other benfit to this, is that when you don't perform a style correctly, you don't lose a lot of endurance (some I'll admit). The thing here is that the combination of styles is supposed to be more effective then allow. Also the defensive "block" styles give you the oppertunity to have the monster not attack you twice (once with the block, the other with the stunned effect of the style, if applicable).

Happy hunting

Its even easier to execute a block style with a fast weapon. After you block, you have until the opponent's next attack to get the Return Blade off. That means, even if you hit the mob after blocking, you can still do a Return Blade. Sometimes, if you're lucky, you can even get 2 off!
RE: return blade
# Dec 05 2001 at 10:38 AM Rating: Default
Knowing when you've blocked should be easy since there is a distinctive sound when you've blocked with your shield (a clunk sound). The problem I have with the return blade is I wont be able to use it if I swing immediatly after blocking the hit or I have already started another style.

Hope that helps
