Aren't We Missing A Magic Spec??
# May 11 2006 at 4:15 PM Rating: Decent
Druids receive Nature Empathy, and it isn't listed here...maybe needs to be updated to reflect the latest spec

Stop whining..
# Sep 09 2002 at 2:11 AM Rating: Default
Damn..so many people whining about how druids are getting weaker and weaker or whatever..What about healers? They don't get DoTs..just CC and speed debuff etc..Atleast druids can DoT, summon pets, root, and are also the main healer class of hib..
Yea well
# Jun 29 2002 at 9:58 PM Rating: Default
I hope all you who said nature affinity sucked and was the worst one to get are happy now. They made it much more powerful in the patch. I made my druid pure nature to defy what everyone told me a good druid is, and now my pet evades and double hits and my DoT's do double damage since the new patch. I'm not saying the other ways are bad, I'm just saying nature is more than just a "Newbie mistake" now.
Druid Tanks

With a druid specced in nature affinity(pet) and nurture(buffs) soloing a orange isnt much of a problem...

Too bad druids cant taunt...

Specializing
# Mar 16 2002 at 1:08 PM Rating: Default
No matter what you think, regrowth is the most powerful and helpful line that a druid can specialize in... Nature, while offensive, as of right now needs a lot of work so id suggest spending the most points in regrowth, but dont leave the other 2 lines alone - even if you are regrowth/nurture specialized, later in RvR if you dont have a mezzer then you need nature for the Area Affect Vine spells. Right now pets are not as good as they should be :( but if you have faith, there is nothing wrong with specializing in nature
Concentration Points
# Mar 09 2002 at 3:59 PM Rating: Default
Is there anything which determines how many conc points I get as a druid in hib? Emp controls the amount of mana I get - but is it also linked to conc as I would like to find some way to increase the number of points I have.
Nature Affinity
# Feb 28 2002 at 1:56 PM Rating: Default
My nature affinity has reached lv11 by putting on some magical items, but I still can't get the spell, moldiness. If a modified NA won't get you new spells, what's the point of having the magical items??

While they don't get you new abilities, they give the abilities you have more power

one question: What is better "nature" or "reganeration"? Are the pets at higher lvl´s helpfull for a group? I´m a lvl 10 druid having 7 in nature and 6 in regeneration. Now i want to spezialize on one way. What should i do?
true pet smarts
# Feb 03 2002 at 8:44 PM Rating: Default
hello this is a true chart of the druid Pet .....the TREE is a blunt weapon wolf is slashing and bob cat is piercing so Basically test which works best with what enemies..also a word make sure u have your specs like this till cercumstance changes without a true choice first go pretty much even when u start your druid to find what u want more..its your game not some 1 else playing .. when u solo u need a green pet for a while as u l/vl i can take on a yellow and 1 blue easy ..and u can add a green ..any way how your pet might be green ,but buffed can kill a blue without death no problem and if u armered your self right u can take the yellow easy alone ...lastly my skill was at 15 lv 9 regrowth 10 9 nurture 8 nature pet green with 3 pionts to spare ..i always loved to have a good heal ..but also u do have to protect your self first u solo more then group..GOOD HUNTING
RE: true pet smarts
# Aug 18 2002 at 12:53 PM Rating: Default
true; buffed pets can handle blues no sweat, however a fully buffed pet can solo a yellow as long as you DoT it, and you can kill oranges by sending pet in first and DoTing until the mob comes after you (depending on how well you can time your heals and DoTs u dont have to do any fighting what soever) and then u attack it while your pet catches up and joins u. the same thing goes for Cabalists in Albion.
Different pets
# Feb 01 2002 at 4:51 PM Rating: Default
Heres the whole idea

TREES: Slowest movement, slowest hit, Good damage.

WOLVES: Fast movement, Medspeed hit, Okay damage.

LYNXES: Best pet, Barely slower than wolf, Double hit speed, MEdium Damage.

MY ADVICE: ALWAYS GET A LYNX!!!!!. They are the best. If u get a tree or wolf, release and try again.
skill 32 pet
# Jan 26 2002 at 12:52 PM Rating: Default
Mythic is getting on my nerves over this pet thing. Been petitioning for 2 months over my skill 32 pet. Natural skill is at 32 and no pet upgrade. Also I leveled today. What do I get? A level 1 heal spell that I guess I had never recieved before. hehe... nope no spell bugs in this game ;)
The pets
# Jan 21 2002 at 10:41 AM Rating: Default
Do get substantially better as you upgrade from cub's to youth's to adolescents then adults etc. The higher specc'd ones can take much more damage and hit more often/harder than their lower type counterparts even when theyre the same level.
Pets
# Dec 21 2001 at 6:03 PM Rating: Default
It seems your pet stays 3/4 the level you do even if you only have enough into nature to get the first one.. Are there any druids with 40 in nature that can tell us if the pet gets a damage spell or new picture or anything sinse we're wasting our points on it instead of getting the better heals :D
RE: Pets
# Jan 14 2002 at 2:08 AM Rating: Default
Well... i do know that this pet does not stay 3/4 lvl on the first one, because my lvl 40 friend summons the same lvl pet as i do when we cast the same version... im lvl 27 btw
Pet Question.
# Dec 01 2001 at 1:14 PM Rating: Decent
Could someone who knows please post what new skills/abilities/changes the pets go through with each new spell. thanks
Check your Nature skill carefully
# Nov 26 2001 at 5:03 PM Rating: Default
Whoever posted that they don't get new dot at 30 and new pet at 32... check your skill tab. If any of your skills are green, then you have bonus modifiers that are NOT calucated when determining when you get new spells. For instance, if you are level 19 and have 19 skill points in Nature, you will NOT get the 20 pet spell (obviously). If you pick up an item that adds 1 to nature, your Nature skill will be 20, but you will still NOT be able to get the 20 pet spell. when you hit level 20, you can put 1 more point into nature (to bump it to 20 natural, 21 with modifiers) and then get your 20 pet spell.

Also note that when you go to your trainer, the lvl 19 guy above will actually show a "20" next to Nature BEFORE he trains (his skill is 19, but the number next to Nature is 20). This is the number of points required to get to the next skill level, not your current skill level.

Also, at Catacombs, a lvl 25 dmg shield (spursprout) is listed, but I see no mention of it in this spell list. My nature skill is only 24, so I can't confirm whether or not a lvl 25 dmg shield exists or not... But from the jump of the lvl 18 2.2 dps dmg shield to the lvl 34 3.7 dps dmg shield, it seems like there is a dmg shield missing here.
Concentration and one other thing
# Nov 24 2001 at 11:30 AM Rating: Default
What is concentration used for? I am level 10 almost 11 Firbolg Druid. What should I put points into as well? Thanx!
RE: Concentration and one other thing
# Nov 29 2001 at 7:26 PM Rating: Default
Concentration is what you use to keep your buffs active. Many buffs aren't timed, but rather use concentration points.
Spell list off
# Nov 20 2001 at 2:01 AM Rating: Default
Well I have 32 in Nature affinity and still no new pet spell, also Dry Rot does more than mentioned above and I got that spell at 31, this spell list is inaccurate...
RE: Spell list off
# Jan 17 2002 at 5:59 PM Rating: Decent
Maybe you have a +1 Nature item; items add total skill but don't give abilities...i.e. you have a total of 32 Nature, but really only 31 so no pet. Same thing for when you got 31, you really had 30 so you got Dry Rot.
Spell list is WRONG
# Nov 14 2001 at 1:36 AM Rating: Default
Ever notice this spell list is not entirely accurate, I have 30 points in Nature Affinity and still no dry rot, WTF is this crap, I get Blight at 24, well 6 levels of no spell upgrades for Nature Affinity is a bunch of crap, this makes druids not get more powerful but weaker at higher levels with spells coming in so slow for upgrades like this

Ever notice that a druid makes a half-way decent tank? I was in Treibh once with a group of 4 druids and no tank. We actually did pretty well with 2 druids tanking and 2 healing. Afterall we can wear all the nice armor and we get a good amount of hitpoints too. The only problem is holding aggro, since we don't hit very hard.
Snare and its Uses
# Nov 12 2001 at 11:18 AM Rating: Decent
well snare spells are best used in groups. there are many many situations when your group will need to pull multis. DAOC is not like EQ in this respect. You will fight multiple targets almost exclusively in a big group. This is the best xp around. The contribution you can make is to slow down one of the monsters headed to your group. Giving the tanks and damage casters time to deal with the ones not snared.
As a druid we can really affectively keep 2 monsters at bay. Send in pet on one snare the other and then heal the group as needed. once the pet dies or the snare breaks your gonna need all that fancy armor.
I also use snare to split multi pulls like Anger sprites. There are often two together. Snare one the other will run after you dot it and mellee it with your pet the snared one should show up about 3/4 of the way through the fight.
The nice thing about soloing two at once is the group bonus. At level 15 fighting blue anger sprites I can get a group bonus of 2k on each one along with the 8k xp for the kill.
As a DAOC druid you are basically a hybrid tank that can heal and buff. I have all yellow reinforced at 15 a nice shield and mace looted in Muire tomb. AF is like 186 Weapon Dmg is 500 or something crazy and weapon skill is 206. I can smack blues around none stop.
Request help with Snare spells
# Nov 11 2001 at 3:54 PM Rating: Default
Anybody got any hints on using the snare spells from the nature line? I haven't been playing a druid long, but I haven't figured out how to make those snare spells do much for me or my group. Thanks!

I actually call these spells "root" spells instead of "snare" because they stop the mob instead of just slowing it. The "root" will break if the mob takes any damage. Keep in mind that the mob can still hit you while its rooted! So if you have a damage sheild on it will break the root. The key is to target the mob you wish to root while it is far away from you. This way you can root the mob before it gets on you. Useful for when you are getting more than 1 mob on each pull. You can root one of the mobs and kill the other.

Root is only effectice prior to combat with the enemy =P

WHERE IS THAT GIANT!!!???
# Nov 05 2001 at 1:40 AM Rating: Default
i have the hint book. on the druid page it shows a tiny little guy (thats a character) and his pet is a HUGE GIANT GREEN OGRE TYPE THING!!! hes like 100 times is size! it shows no picture other than that in the hint book. my question is:

Where can i get one?

where is he located?

That huge Giant is somewhere in midgard.
i have heard of people who have tried to fight him but they say hes about level 50.thats really all i know
RE: WHERE IS THAT GIANT!!!???
# Mar 30 2002 at 10:44 AM Rating: Default
The only green giants are the forest giants in Forest Sauvage (Albion Frontieer). There is the Glacier Giant aka Midtard Smusher who cannot be seen complete;y without moving your view up. He however isnt very green, and is much higher than 50, ie he smushes 50's unless you have a full group of 48+
Pets

As you go to higher pets they seem to have more skills. They higher pets also cast spells on themselves to save you some concentration.
