There are two schools of thought on the subject. And not absolutes.
Shadowzerker and Critblade. Soulblades are really just Shadowzerkers with a small amout of critblade initial contact. With a kobold I'd probably go with a Critblade myself and just train Axe Critical hit and leftovers on stealth. For a better idea check out.

What specing does
# Jul 13 2002 at 12:48 PM Rating: Default
Specing in throwing simply increase your damage just like specing in any othere weapon...You get No styles but your damage will increase when you spec on throwing

How do you throw?
# Jun 12 2002 at 10:35 PM Rating: Default
I have level 1 in throw for my level 7 warrior, and for the life of my character, I cannot figure out how to throw an axe. It would be nice to know that I don't have to waste points on it
RE: How do you throw?
# Jul 01 2003 at 5:55 PM Rating: Default
All you have to do is first make sure your throwing axes are in the ranged slot then click on the throwing axe graphic and click on your QB...once you do that you just click on the MOB and push the icon located on your QB. (Its just like using a bow)

i am level 6 and cant seem to find anything to help me gain levels. monsters are either to weak or to powerful, anyone have any tips
sb spells?
# Apr 07 2002 at 1:22 PM Rating: Default
What spells would they get anyways? The Shadowblades that is.
peeps be warned
# Apr 05 2002 at 12:57 PM Rating: Default
Don't ever pump spec points into this skill it is completely useless and you don't get any styles . . . as for being able to draw with it by the time you get close enough to throw the monsters will aggro on you anyway
Warriors and Thrown Weps
# Feb 25 2002 at 10:00 AM Rating: Default
Warriors can specialize in thrown weapons. But why?? I haven't noticed a range increase, nor damage, nor speed, and not even any moves like crit shot. I was planning on making a thrown wep spec char just to be different, but the class seems UNPLAYABLE. Its meant for ONLY pulling, not as main attack........ yet, why can warriors SPEC in it if it's not going to make any difference? Is this a trap for the unwarey to drain away their points??

Infiltrators
# Jan 06 2002 at 12:53 PM Rating: Default
I'm new to the game but it seams like Infiltrators get the short end of the stick as far as the pure rogue classes go. What do Infiltrators get to bring them up to par with the shadowblades and nightshades who get magic? Throwing doesn't come close to evening things up.

Shadowblades get magic?!? First that I've heard of it, and I have a 34th level one... /:O

envenoming is looking pretty good to me with my lvl 9 infiltrator. i have spoken with higher levels in game and they say poisons are effective in rvr. apparently they use to be bugged but if you speak with infiltrators in the game they all seem to use poisons. nice thing is you can envenom group members weaps too. dont underestimate this in combination with your serial crit combos.

Geese...
You guys are gonna ***** till they make you too powerfull. EQ did that and then everyone wanted to be a rogue and wizards went out of style...quit ******** and enjoy a class that is unique and fun to roleplay.
RE: Infiltrators
# Jun 11 2003 at 4:26 PM Rating: Default
i had an level 40 rogue in EQ and was doing ok killing people but they nerf the the dam hide and sneak in eq to point that everyone at my level can see me with an see inv item.IT was bad enough i had very weak attack .I couldn't backstab anyone anymore.I guess that happens when people cry to much.Hell before the nerf i had a nerco too and i killed ro rogue even if i could not see them.Eq just made them weaker than before
RE: Infiltrators
# Jan 24 2002 at 12:44 PM Rating: Default
the nightshade spell sucks the big one. I am a shade and it is utterly useless for anything except getting the mobs attention.

I am glad you have issues with you thief character cuz i think mythic needs to address the growing disparity between the shade/ranger and infiltrator/scout classes.

The rangers in HIB kick butt and the shade is lags big time in comparison
RE: Infiltrators
# Feb 06 2002 at 10:45 AM Rating: Default
hehe, ranger is being downgraded. most likely not a complete nerf, but probably making it impossible for a level 40 ranger to kill someone level 45, or higher... makes sense to me.

where can you buy poison in albion?
Crossbows and Daggers
# Dec 14 2001 at 10:46 AM Rating: Default
I have a shadowblade in Midgard as well as a baby infiltrator in Albion. The listing here does say that infiltrators get throwing but I just got the crossbow skill...as of yet I can only find the bolts and have not been able to try it. (psttt-anyone that wants to clue me in on the location of a crossbow merchant please feel free to spoil my fun...hehe)

My shadowblade got throwing at 5 I believe and while I carry daggers I very seldom use them, and if at all it's in a group to help pull. Solo it seems pointless since you can't use your crit strike line if you pull with a dagger....and while some of you may be better than me, I find it difficult to kill more than blues(if that) if my crits fail and I don't remember to apply poisons.
RE: Crossbows and Daggers
# Feb 19 2002 at 3:30 PM Rating: Default
The hardest part about finding a crossbow to buy is realizing that while WEAPON mrchants sell bows, ARROW merchants sell crossbows. That's a little whacked. Anyway, I bought mine from a merchant in the village outside the east gate to camelot (cottle somethingorother). There's one building with no door on it. inside is a weapon merchant and two arrow merchants. One of them sold xbows.

What exactly is gained from training in Throwing? Does your delay time decrease and damage increase? Do you get any abilities such as a critical shot? Trying to discern if it is even useful to train the skill.
envenom
# Nov 22 2001 at 9:59 PM Rating: Default
envenom is use by your skill level of your envenom. The higher the skill the stronger of poison able to use on your blades
Shadowblade SKills
# Nov 10 2001 at 11:20 PM Rating: Default
The way I understood it was that shadowlades would have the ability to throw daggers in order to pull. I have not yet heard what spec you have to put points into to get this nor how you aquire it.
I also was wondering how to use envenom. Does that come with a specific spec level as well? If so what do I train in to get these skills?

HELP!!!
RE: Shadowblade SKills
# Nov 19 2001 at 4:29 AM Rating: Default
To use envenom you first have to buy poison. Theres a poison shop to the right when you enter thru Jordheims west entrance (from Vasuheim). They come in bottles, so all you do is drag a bottle and drop it on a weapon in your inventory. The higher you train your envenom skill, the more powerful poisons you can use. If you dual wield, you can use two different poisons, one on each blade. My envenoms at 5, and I can use the lesser lethal poison. Hope that helps a bit.

Able to use throwing daggers, and throwing keen(sp? I think similar to throwing stars*shrug*) Unable to use throwing hammers or axes. Yes Shadowblades were supposed to get limited spell usage, but as of yet it is not implemented.

Throwing weapons
# Oct 18 2001 at 3:47 PM Rating: Default
You don't melee with a throwing weapon is all. If you go into melee mode while holding a throwing weapon, you get that message.

Just hotkey your ranged slot. If you are using your sword and not in battle you will need to press the ranged slot hotkey 3 times. The first switches your current weapon to the throwing hammer, axe or dagger. The second press readies the weapon to be thrown (nice animation), and after a prerequisit waiting time, you will be able to press the button again to throw the weapon.
Switching between throwing and melee?
# Oct 15 2001 at 11:03 PM Rating: Decent
Anyone else having a problem with switching between throwing daggers and your sword? Is there something I have to do after throwing a dagger at a mob? I get a message that says I can't melee with a throwing weapon. I was under the impression it was similar to EQ in that it just switched automaticaly for you? Thanks.
RE: Switching between throwing and melee?
# Dec 14 2001 at 10:57 AM Rating: Default
What I do seems to work fairly well for me.

I'm a shadowblade use a dagger and a left axe....I also have a 2h sword.

I keep the dagger in the right hand, the axe in the left hand and throwing daggers in the range slot....I also equip the 2 hander in the 2h slot .

I have a hotkey page for weapons and my crit strike line....weapons at the bottom and strikes at the top.

I either throw my dagger and then click on the icon for my melee dagger and then hit auto attack again.....or I switch to my 2h...sneak....flip back to my weapon/attack page.....backstab/whatever/whatever....click the icon for my melee dagger(auto attack will go off).....then hit auto attack again.

After the fight you just need to remember to reclick whatever weapon you want to run around equiped with...I just do it when I reapply my poisons.

Are another class that can throw, I think.
RE: shadowblades
# Oct 15 2001 at 5:16 PM Rating: Decent
Yup They can. Throw that is.

I was under the impression that they could cast spells as well. I did get mana, but not a spell at level 5. No change at 6 at least....

Anybody know about this?

The spells are not in the game for SBs yet.
