I am a lvl 20 fire wiz looking for a good hunting spot with usable drops of armor and staffs. Anything that can increase my int and con stats. does anyone know of a good place?
It would be nice if Darkflame could add on the locations of new mobs in Barfog since Ellyl and ravenclan giant(i have seen ravenclan giants near king of barfog hill, in stone rings)have been added to it in one of the patches

There is a new set of friar armor that drops off the undead monks (and probably other monastery mobs). The "Ghastly Mendicant" armor itself is comparable to the molded leather from the Catacombs (AF 58 for both, 90% qual for both). The molded leather seems more combat oriented in design while the mendicant armor is more for the passives (trades off quick, str and resists overall for piety and con)
However, the the non armor mendicant items (bracer, necklace in particular) are PHENOMENAL friar items for level 30. Bracers are +2 staff, +2 parry, +3 dex, +3 con (and you get to wear two of em). Necklace is +2 enhance, +1 rejuv, +3 piety, +6 con (something like that)
My character right now (lev 29) between all his armor has staff 25+7, rejuv 15+1, enhance 18+6, parry 1+4 for his skills...and I still havent gotten the leggings, cap, gloves, vest, jewelry or rings. Gathering should go much faster tomorrow night on, as I'll make 30 and my new staff from the epic will make things much less chancy on soloing the monks, like I have been.
I talked to Lslwyn in Llyn Barfog. He told me to go and ask his brother Lfor for a Golden Fish Idol. Nothing shows up in my Quest journal and I can't get Lfor to talk to me what am I doing wrong?
seems barfog is great for people 25-30, then a bit rubbish till lvl 48+ in groups
i went there (44 cleric) with a group of about 6 of us, above 42, and exp was ok, about 15-20mil a kill but not particularly fast. no drops but we couldnt kill the epic monsters. we tried a mouth but that wiped us out sooooo quick hehe. we are still on 1.45 so until 1.48 dartmoor seems a lot better
There are mechants in the Barfog though. However, make sure you'll neutral or friendly to them before you wander too close to their settlement. They dont' like everyone. Kill Hobgoblins, Renegade guards, and the like to improve your faction with them.
the entrance to Llyn Barfog is a little tricky... But basically From Snow Station head East, when you hit the boarder keep trying to look for and entrance which keeps heading East. You'll know when you get to Llyn when you see a big guard tower. But beware they are renegade guards and will kill you!
This place is great to me.. Level 25 arms.. I can solo all night, and hardly ever see another person. Lots of good drops on almost every form of monster too. I like uncrowded areas, and this one if pretty good for that. Don't kill the renegade gaurds or the merchants in the house will not deal with you, they'll try to kill you instead. I can gain a level a night here, and it's open enough, that i can pull just one creature at a time, and not die alot. It's one of my favorite hunting spots.
im a 40 cab and the merchants wouldnt sell to me so i made the mistake of killing a few of them and now i need to give one of them something ive killed lots of hobgobblins but they are grey so i dont think im getting faction what do i do
Yep, my bad. Now I need to figure out who I killed to make them so mad at me. I killed enough hobgoblins and then gaurds that they are now freindly to me. But I don't know why they hated me so, I thought it was the gaurds I killed. But I dunno what it was now. :)
The big guy dropped some Af98 Chain called Doom mail. I don't think any of the other Epic monsters do drop items yet. Be warned through a lvl 50 merc was hitting for 5 damage :)
What is a good lvl to fight here? I'm at 23 right now and my vindicator armori is yellow so i thought i might srarrt looking for new stuff and i heard some good plate dropped here, any suggestions?
Anyone know how to reverse the factions for the Twr Ap vendors on the lake? It appears that they are aggressive and I need to reverse factions. Please help.....
Possibly a dumb question but is there anywhere in Llyn Barfog that I can sell the loot I gather there? I cant see anywhere - there does not seem to be any friendly settlements in the vicinity but the exp is good for me so I kind of like it there. Do I really have to run back to Snowdonia station to sell my stuff?
Agreed, Lyn Barfog isn't a dungeon, but the hunting seemed fine to me. Level 20 Wizard and Level 21 Paladin received good/great xp throughout. Some places, such at the dead monk abbey were steered clear of and some hills to the north contained diamondback toads and deadly cythrul (sp?) which were bloody purple to us.
Good enough hunting with a little care. Didn't see another soul the entire night.
