Dartmoor

Type:Normal
Realm:Albion

Max Level:50
Description:
This is an epic zone, meant to be traversed by large groups of high level players only.

Per the 1.101 Release Notes 02.24.10:
Certain zones are now flagged as Epic Zones. These zones now relocate anyone logged out for more than 30 minutes to a safe spot typically located at the start of the zone, except for the main Realm Dragon zones. The locations for these Epic Zones place you safely outside the Faction towns, near the bindstones.
Per this note, Dartmoor is now considered an Epic Zone.

Running around solo.
# Jun 28 2003 at 12:23 AM Rating: Decent
Hi, i was out tonight solo in Dartmoor on Mordred, luckly no PK's to ruin my run, but i made it to Koz and Kaz, died right after i beat Kaz. Nothing really special droped for me off Kaz the oj named, but the yellow one Koz gave me a 15.3dps 2.3spd 89%qua Thrust Stone Splitter with good stats and it glowed a redish color. Also got off the reg mobs a Deathsight staff 16.2 dps 90%qua~ Deathsight 8, Int 7, 45lvls of Deathsight and it has an Orange glow with orange sparks in it. I like this area alot now for slow but good solo farming.

Turn the Ancient Granite Stones into an NPC in Cornwall(upstairs) for XP. Somewhere between 15-20 million I believe.

Can't remember the name...but as you go up the stairs in the back, turn around as you come off them, he's the only one standing there by himself...if he won't talk to you..then you are too low to turn them in. Cant' remember the min level off the top of my head, and too early for me to do a search ...heh

Well, on June 22nd, Isleult server, My whole guild ( Magni Nominus Umbra ) and 11 other guilds that are part of an alliance, went on a dragon raid. We had around 150-200 people, we found him with only a couple deaths from the granite giants, but we had level 50 infils to scout him out before hand. After that, we were all killed in about 20 minutes..... so we went for another attempt and failed. But be warned, he has a VERY powerful AoE fire dmg attack, so keep each group spread out or everyone will die. He hits for around 5000 dmg, so good luck. He has very very unique drops, 1 epic one time drop item for each class.

Dragon Hunt, on Excalibur server Europe
# Jun 05 2002 at 7:02 AM Rating: Default
Well, 350 met at cornwall station, headed on to dartmoor, got half way into dartmoor and the zone crashed under our weight. A short while later we all headed back, got to the dragon's castle and there was no sign of the Dragon. We waited for what seemed like 1.5 to 2 hours, and there was no sign of a Dragon any where. It apears the dragon doesn't spawn when the zone starts up, or something we were doing was stopping him spawning.

Anyway, people disbanded and went RvR instead. The 'Where's the dragon' hunt was fun, but ultimately cost half the realm a few hours down time.

Does anyone know if 350 people was over kill?

Yesterday I (24th lvl Wizzie) was there with my guildmaster, a 31st lvl Cab. We sat around near the entrance from Cornwall & killed a few Greenhorn Poachers, which were orange-to-purple to me. The toughest of them my friend said were orange to him, so they're up to about 32-33rd level or so, I guess. They dropped stuff like bent spoons & ornate goblets & stuff, that sold for decent amounts of silver, & weren't too tough to kill.

We got bored with them, & went in deeper. I think Dartmoor is one of the coolest-looking outdoor zones in the realm, along with Lyn Barfog, but unfortunately we didn't get very far; Granite Giants, red to my GM, chased us out & so we headed back to Cornwall.

I'm 25th now, & am looking forward to going back for more poachers, soon... :)
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 14 2002 at 11:49 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This Sunday I would like to gather any and all interested parties to go on a dragon hunt. The hunt will begin on Sunday at 6pm Eastern time. My character's name is Myrgan (highlander level 36 Armsmen). Yes I know I may not be able to hit the damn thing... but who cares. I want to see it. My guild is the Iron Throne. I'm hoping that any that read this will advertise the dragon hunt on your guild message system. It should be great fun! Come no matter your level, and tell all your friends about it.
