Just wondering, what the best class for a newbie would be. Doesn't have to level that quickly or DOMINATE in RvR, just be able to be fine in all aspects. It would be nice if I were able to get into groups sometimes too, and I like playing melee classes but casters are fine too. Thanks.
The Vampiir is a real workhorse toon, not really a tank but very versitile and fun to play.

I would have to agree, I have been playing for little over a year, and my first toon was a Vampiir. She was fun and easy to level, and is very versitile. Definitly a good choice for a starter class imo :)
Thinking 'old school' since I've had Hibs for over 4 years, How about a warden?
Buffs, Melee ability, Heals, Group protection. Should get you groups.

Vampire is a great choice. I'd also direct you towards the animist.

A warden can be a great starter class. Very group friendly and able to hold their own in the solo field...especially later in the game.
They provide their own support and are defensive enough to tkae on most mobs as you level. As with any hybrid type characters, there will be a learning curve, and you will need to decide weather you want to be more of a tank or more of a healer.
My suggestion is keeping nurture line at specced to your current level and spenind points in regrow or weapon from there. Save parry till the end, and put leftover points in shield.
Don't expect big damage, but be ready to take a bunch of damage and have a TON of utility!

I love my vamp but often find it vamps to be unwelcome in RvR groups.
My first toon was a warden and she is welcome everywhere and does well solo also.
Another great class after getting more luv from Mythic is the often overlooked Valewalker. I solo'd mine to 50 and she does well anywhere I take her and is welcome in all groups.
