Bringing KAOS to WAR!!Follow

#1 Apr 10 2008 at 5:58 PM Rating: Default
Hail!

Posting an awareness thread to inform anyone interested of the current status of an old player!

Many of you may not know me, many of you perhaps do.

I played as Viryn Victory on Merlin as an Alb, GM of Kaos Crusaders guild and leader of our Alliance, until the release of WoW.

Kaos enjoyed a long lived experience on WoW on 2 different servers, but the game is just repetitive and lame...I can't belive I spent so much time in dungeons after having such a great RvR experience in DAoC.

Anyway...now KAOS is gearing up for the upcoming release of Warhammer Online. So, here is some info if anyone is interested in exploring that game with us. We will be involved in open beta.

KAOS

This was such a good post I made on another foruming, answering the question "Tell us more about your guild" that I could not refrain from posting it here as well...enjoy :)

Well, the most accurate comparison I can give you would be from DAoC.

In DAoC as Albs on Merlin, we grew to be leaders of the largest Alliance on any server, maintaining 20 active guilds with a total of 2500+ players.

Relic raids and 100+ player Dragon raids were a thing of regularity.

In WoW, we started from release and then quit before 40 man dungeons due to lack of PvP content. We made a come back about a year into TBC (after having some fun with CS:S) and in 4 months had Kara on farm status. Ran some Gruuls, Mag, ZA, TK and SSC. Not very impressive in PvE content I realize, but many of us are not able to dedicate 6-8 hours a day raiding the same content over and over, and many of the WoW player base has nothing but time to devote to full scale raiding...so keeping a daily "perfect" 25 man regular roster turned out to be difficult, even with a 200+ member player base. Thre is ZERO guild loyalty in WoW.

The best way I can classify us would be as a semi-hardcore or a hardcore/softcore guild. Being that we have been doing this now for 10+ years, as you can imagine most of us are over 30 or close to it. With our maturity comes more responsibilities such as full time jobs and families.

We still immensely enjoy playing our pcgames as a guild, but our time is limited. I would say on average...most of us goto work, come home, have dinner, and play for about 4-6 hours in the evenings. Not exactly hardcore, not exactly casual; however, we do try and make the most of the time we have.

This philosophy does not of course apply to every single member of Kaos, but it does apply to myself and the majority of the extend members (aka Officers).

All around, I think we are a GREAT guild to play with, and our members will enhance most individuals gaming experience. Seeing as how the "core" of the guild are mature, responsible working individuals, if you are looking for a guild that will fill an available activity slot of 8-10 hours, we may not be the guild for you. We welcome all others that think we may have something to offer to them via our vast experience and love of the game. :)

I can say that for a fact, we will never be satisfied with sub par performance, and we will continue to grind away in WAR to make our guild name stand tall. We are all full of pride, and maintaining claims on keeps is a high priority for us. We are PvP oriented, but are fully capable of organized PvE as needed.

We have fully functional guild forums, vent, and even a MySpace to boot! That combined with the experiences myself and many of our members have had in a vast selection of games, ranging from rpg's, rts', and fps', combines for what I believe to be a very enjoyable gaming experience.

Kaos will succeed in WAR...the only question that remains is...will you be a part of it? :)

Please feel free to join our community and stay tuned with our plans for WAR on our forums. Info for both open and closed beta will be posted as it becomes available.

Good Luck and Good Hunting.
