blindingly pink buildings?Follow

#1 Jul 27 2008 at 8:21 AM Rating: Decent
I've installed the base client, which included Shrouded Isles, and Catacombs which says it included Trials of Atlantis, but I still have these blindingly pink buildings in some towns. I can hardly even maneuver in them because I can't see where I'm going. are they supposed to be like that or am I missing a download?

sounds like something is wrong, maybe with your graphics card or something. perhaps it is not compatible. Just a guess. the buildings are definitely not blindingly pink.

I am not much of a computer person, so not sure what I could offer.

if it is in only "some" towns and others are normal, perhaps try doing the complete file check when you log on the startup screen. It is a little box you check.

The complete file check made no change.

The buildings in the outlaying newbie areas towns are still purple/pink on the outside and downright blinding on the inside. All the other buildings, including those in the central settlement (just outside the castle) look ok. Our highest lvl toon is now lvl 13, so we've not seem much of the map yet.

It does indeed look like missing files as they and the cook pot in New Avalon are the only things that look like this.

We are getting the same results with two different video cards: NVIDIA Quadro FX 1700 and GeForce FX 5200 each on 2 separate machines (4 machines total -- we're in the process of replacing the old machines with much newer ones)

I'm just not much of a computer expert to give you any advice. I have installed it on several machines, laptops and PC's, and never had any problems at all.

Only other things I can think of are making sure you have a recent update to DirectX, and if all else fails, trying to reinstall. I also think there is a link on the camelotherald.com to get a set of installation disks sent to you.

However, if you are planning on playing the game past the trial date, then I would suggest you buy the 5th anniversary edition. You can buy it online and have it in a day or two, and although it may cost $15 or something, you get the first month free, so it is essentially free. Doing this will give you all the expansions, including Darkness Fire and Labyrinth of the Minotaur. If you were to purchase them in-game, they would cost $30 and not give you a free month. If you need a link for any of this, let me know and I will be happy to find one for you.

I'm an old player who just got a 14 day free trial to see if I wanted to activate my old accounts and ran into this as well. Was just a tower but it was this super bright pink lavender dayglow even. Like the old black light days.

I was like. WoW. Someone at mythic trippin big time. Why they make dayglow Pink towers.

So this is just some kind of glitch and they have not sprinkled 'day glow pink" buildings and objects around?
