So I am trying to get back into DAoC and activated seven-day trial. I very much wish to get back into it but I keep getting disconnected from the game during East Coast prime hours.
Sometimes between the hours of 5:00 and 10:00 pm Eastern my toons will stop receiving packets from the server and the client disconnects me. It truly affects my overall enjoyment and negatively affects my toons when in a dangerous spot or even while engaged in combat.
It seems to me I had this same problem on a different computer back when I first left DAoC and it was a contributing cause. The problem does not seem to be related to auto detect settings on my AV suite, nor an issue with my firewall (since I have tried it after temporarily disabling both the smart firewall and autodetect AV).
I am on broadband (FIOS) and I don't have this problem in the other online games I've played recently.
So I wonder whether this problem impacts others? Is it a known issue? Is there a way to minimize occurance? Any tips? Does customer support ever respond ( I assume CS is understaffed)?
