Silly Aethien.

Blizzard hasn't nerfed a class in ages. They much prefer to buff everyone else instead.

Rogues are fine, mostly.

What's OP in my opinion is the way the Stealth Mechanics work and the lack of usable counters to Stealth.

I say this in the sense that on my rogue I am able to stay inside the warsong flag room for as long as I want, with a person that knows I am there and is doing everthing he can to unstealth me but he is unable to unstealth me, no matter what class he plays.

Fail counters:

- "AoE nova" spams or walking in circles spamming tab tend to fail because you can see the other person moving around and evade him, and also because you can sap the person approaching you before he can unstealth you.

- "Rain of AoE" work if they hit, chance is one in a million considering the radius of the AoE compared to the size of the room. In case of success I can just vanish.

Most effective:

- Other stealthed Rogues, not so much because they have improved stealth detection but because you cannot see them doing their moving around scanning you and cannot evade them for this reason.

- Warlock's pet stealth detection buff, it can be easily countered by either staying away from the pet if the warlock stays close to it, or sapping the pet if the warlock moves around the entire room.

Now, the best case scenario would be to have a stealthed rogue buffed by a warlock pet, that would probably unstealth you out of the warsong room, still is unlikely to work in places like AB where you have more space to move around. But I'd have to say that at that level it's fine, there's no reason to be unstealthed from a long distance, that would be ridiculous.

I can think of ways to nerf this that aren't terribly bad, one would be to give rogues improved stealth detection while they are stealthed, so that they can see each other at a much larger range frontal cone if both are stealthed, which is actually a buff to rogues but it would introduce a way to unstealth rogues that would be truly effective.

I think stealth should always be able to close range to a target you can flank. But at the moment it can be used as if it was the bigger version of charge, you can just stealth, approach trough the frontal cone of view, open with a 4-sec stun that is followed by a 6-sec stun and a 5-pt evis.

I find it odd that you'd say this, when they already gave Assas Rogues an unbelievably strong skill vs. other Rogues in the form of Vendetta.

And you are forgetting Hunters in your analysis. Track Hidden, ftw. And I THINK Track Hidden and Track Humanoids can be active at the same time on Beta. If the servers calm down, I'll log in to check.

I've never had a problem finding a rogue I know is there. The de-ranking nerf stopped just spamming rank 1 blizzard for the first tick all around the room, but it's still easy enough to sweep the room clean. As a rogue I just waltz around spamming my target-sap macro. They're usually hiding in the house or near one of the two exits so they can LoS AoE.

Actual combat, at least, is balanced around rogues getting the opener.

I guess some people are just having faulty sarcasm meters today. Besides, we all know how overpowdered rouges are.

More accurately, one person did and then we responded to him.

- Hunters with Track Hidden will only track you after they detect you, and can be evaded while they are running around the room the same way as any other visible class, and by the time they are in range to detect you they are also in range of sap, so you can sap them to prevent them from unstealthing you if you do it right.

Rogues of all colors will agree that using the trinket to break sap isn't a smart move unless you have something really good to gain the upper hand.

Ah, so that's the new version of HFB... It's like the pally wings with extra bang, you can't use invis or stealth to escape from it. Not bad at all.

I can't say it's exactly a counter to stealth in the way I was referring to, you can only apply the debuff after you have unstealthed the rogue, and rogues already have a bleed ability to prevent other rogues from restealthing.

This however is more of a killing ability than an unstealthing ability, I can imagine cheap shot -> this+on use trinket -> pew pew. And you can do it without DoTs.

Ah, 2005, the halcyon days of yore. I remember them; days of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy. Everything was so much brighter back then. Women were real women, men were real men, and amusing visual bugs were real amusing visual bugs. Bush was freshly reelected, and we all knew we had a good 4 years of mocking Americans to look forward to.

Time is a harsh, harsh mistress.

Nah - pallies - I'm sick of having to do enough damage to kill them 20 times just to kill them once. >_<

I HATE Paladins. HAAAAAATE them. I remember one day on my Mage, in WG, where me and a Feral Druid were focus firing this Pally (after I had popped MI, IV and AP, mind you). 45 seconds later and he was still at full. >:(

He wasn't even super geared. Much better than me, with my mediocre AH-purchased set of gear, but the Feral outgeared him.

I THOUGHT we almost had him after I iCSed him, but he used LoH just as the silence wore off.

Needless to say, every time I see a Pally survivability nerf, I smile a little inside.

Hahaha, Retadins are overrated, I can solo 2 Ret without much effort. I so much as sneeze and a 3rd one dies too. And they're overpopulated too so I've been farming Retadins for quite a large sum of free HKs!!

A sincere thread growing from one that was begun with drama and QQ, rather than the other way around! I just don't even.

I blame Theo and his newfound love for all things cuddly and cute. Maybe if he would snap out of it, but until then, the threads will pretty much just go:

Person A: I'M BEST!!
Person B: You're an idiot.
Person A: NO U
Person B: No, no, I'm pretty sure you're the idiot.
Person C: What he said.
Person A: AMAGA--
Person D: So, I heard Retadins are hard to kill...
Person B: Not.
Person C: Yeah, they are.
Person A: /wrist

So snap out of it, Theo, and get with the flaming. And Aeth, you can join in. I did not just butter up all this popcorn for no reason.

Smiley: popcorn
