Benefits include, you get a free 30 days every friend that pays, then the first 3 get you items I listed above. Agian even if you have an account already someone can "recruit you"

The grind isn't nearly as bad until you hit 50.... then, you'll want the Space Odyssey audio books.

Downloaded it, then I realized that I don't have time for an MMO so I uninstalled it.

Thought about downloading it, but I'm already playing WoW somewhat regularly. Plus I always have TERA or GW2 to go back to if I need something F2P.

Yeah I was gonna say... ive never had to grind in this game, even at launch. And now it's less grindy. Smiley: dubious

"Grind" must have lost its meaning over the years.

Grinding is where you gather a party and head out to some overcrowded, remote location and then fight the same monster type again and again for a few hours in order to gain half a level or so, right? I mean, if you're lucky and your tank doesn't decide to leave after 20 minutes and then you spend another hour or so trying to find a replacement. And just when you find one, your healer has to take off. Then there's no healer so the tank you invited decides to join another group and then you give up and log out. Right?

You know, I don't know if I would have ever gotten to cap in FFXI back in the day if it hadn't been for marijuana.

You're delusional if you think the backlog will ever get smaller.

It's less a matter of it getting smaller than picking the good stuff out of it.

I ment grind as in boring, dull, monotonous. From my 10 levels the skills dont feel like they have any "oompf" they just seem like hitting buttons. Maybe its the animations. I ground like 10 lvl 85-90 toons in WoW, I have a almost capped warrior in GW2, and I had a 75 back pre bird camps, a 2nd one after bird camps in FF11.

I understand grind, Idk just something about Rift feels of, Like i said like im not really doing anything.

Doesnt matter anyway, Im posting from my phone connection, the internet I hijacked caught on and kicked me off the network, So its back to teethering my sh*tty verizon wireless prepaid, til monday.

Ha, i always wonder what effect these events had on new players trying the game out. I could see them scaring players away. http://community.riftgame.com/en/2013/06/25/freemarch-silverwood-under-siege/

I remember silverwood becoming very difficult to quest in during similar invasions in beta.

Grind is Everquest, around 2001-2003. Ugh.

I miss Rift. But right now I'm holding this hard drive together with duct tape and bubble gum. Since my husband hasn't worked since December, I just can't see me spending even $50 right now on a crappy HD. But he's getting better, he hopes to be able to get back to work soon, then maybe I can start buying things other than groceries and electricity.

People that complained about the events, rifts and invasions always annoyed me to no end. That's what this game is about, ffs. Usually the entire zone would ask them what in the world they were doing on this game if the game itself bothered them so much.

For me, quests were just something to do while you waited for an event. Quests blow.

I really liked the Rifts. I never did them full time, but they were a great source of xp, and a great way to break up the monotony of questing.

I tried this the other week, but the queues were insane on all servers at the time I tried it. I since got a new PC and haven't installed on it yet. So, how are the queues?
