Warning the spoilers are the names of late game bosses. You can maybe read the post without clicking them if those names will bother you.

Geebus F ing BBQ, no one can fight the Dancer. It's the worst thing to sunbro ever. 6 hosts in a row all died. I did it after maybe 3-4 attempts in my own world and sure it's weird and lanky and awkward as all **** but man if you are hosting just stay the F back for Pates sake. Don't hero right into the grab over and over.

lmao I love this game. What's really cruel is going right from Aldritch that cheap dirty bastich to the Dancer with no "hey fun new area to loot or explore" in between. Damn From, that was cruel and unusual.

But still as much as I am ******** I do think this game is on par with some of the best souls. It's an exhausting journey. As it should be. I'm sure on my 400-500 hour I will look back with that golden glow and think what a casul I still was then.

I respecced again to bump my faith up to high enough to use sunlight sword and it's just so nice to have my glorious incandescence back! The skill on the thing is a huge buff to attack/defense and stacks with blessed weapon. Had I known it's location earlier I would have been real tempted to invoke the Dancer fight earlier. Plus I never would have spent twinkling to level crappy boss weapons that look cool but are impractical for my style.

I did end up getting it to +4 after scrambling to find every last twinkling left in the game practically. Of course the zone where I got the last two has ashes that unlock more twinkling in the vendor. Also I am super flush with chunks now that I don't really need them, Lothric castle is like chunk city. I don't have a slab yet becuase I killed one to many bosses and it screwed up the Seigy quest line. Smiley: glare Damn fussy NPC quest lines sheez. I might not go full slab though becuase of how matchmaking works until NG+. Apparently full upgrade is a at the tier breaking point and you can cut off your matchmaking from a large portion of society.

I think I got maybe 3 bosses left and one optional that is opened up and ready as soon as I am in the mood to tackle it after work tonight.

Pyromancer is pretty shweet. Fire spells, fire ax(with starter gift), early enhancement rings, access to both mage and priest utility spells. The starter fireball casts faster and hits harder than soul arrows. I'm thinking this is the class to start with for Pol. And because you can respec, you could essentially just convert to pure mage if you wanted later on when mages get good (at like 50-60 INT.)

Anyway enjoying this alt to delay finishing the last zone on my main guy.

My first character in DS was a Pyromancer, so it would be a fitting place to start.

I kind of remembered that might of been the case. Tearing it up so far on pyro this weekend. Very nice change of pace from my quality straight sword guy. .

Haven't made much progress due to work scheduling, but I've somehow turned my Thief class into the Assassin class. Katana, 100% DEF shield, Long Bow, Hidden Body and Spook, with Assassin Clothes and Theif Mask head.

Also I would like to mention how happy I am they combined the silent footsteps and no fall damage spells into one (Spook). I cast it and throw myself into the Pit of Hollows just for fun.

Spook is a great spell. Love it.

My pyro caught up to and surpassed my quality guy. They are both ready to finish the game as soon as I want. But I do not want. So I rolled a new spear herald. The theme for this one is spears onry. Though shalt not be tempted by halberds, though shalt use dex/fth and fth and dex shall thought use.

My spear character is bad and makes me feel bad. I totally keep thinking it is going to get better. I even farmed a Lothric Knight spear thinking it would be all uber. It takes 8-9 pokes to kill anything at +3 in Farron... Think I should finish the last zone on my other two characters soon.

Did you get the spear from the Cursed Greatwood boss? You can wear it on your back and still get the HP restore effect, then you just have to stack it with the rings that drain/restore HP on hits/kills.

Not a bad idea. I was kind of thinking of making a blessed spear/shield/ring regen monster character. That spear is so ugly though. I want a holy heraldy type spear. Smiley: frown

In other news I decided to push on with my pyro. On second to last boss with one optional left. It's funny how much I can hate an area and then after I am like. Wow that area was pretty cool. Grand Archives was like that. I still hate the Farron swamp though, even after 4-5 toons it still takes me forever to clear that place.

It's a cross with vines over it, it doesn't get more holy than that in game.

Not as far as I know, think you just need 1 copy these days. Also done. Beat the last boss on my pyro at SL99.

My super brief review: I liked it. I enjoyed it more than Bloodborne. BB is just so relentless on the grimdark, and come on we all know the chalice dungeons were a pure joy killer.

So yeah DS3? Thumbs up. It's hard for me to place it in the pantheon, I've just played so much dmS-ds2 that I'm still a bit biased. Maybe for DS2 to be honest although the fancool kids like to say without Myazaki there is no souls blah blah. But I'm not done yet with DS3. I should try those last areas on my quality guy to see how much I started crutching on great chaos and dark orbs.

And that spear guy will git gud someday, I just know it!

I was cool with the grimdark, but the chalice dungeons can go suck a lemon.

So I tried the Dancer and got my *** two-shotted each attempt. Gave up and fought the Abyss Watchers and beat them on the second try. I thought I beat it on the first try, then the cutscene played and I was respawned directly next to the second form and died instantly. Summoned a NPC for the second try and used it to backstab the boss to death.

It does look cool maybe I will try it on my Dex guy at some point, let me know how you like it. I rolled another toon tonight and decided to start with sellsword. Swapped the starter swords with the katana and cleared all the way through Abyss watchers. My muscle memory with the katana from 3 games helps as well. Even rocked through Farron swamp with only one death, finally know where I am going there. Because I lost no souls I made it into the level 30's in a couple hours. Smiley: eek

Oh and don't worry about Dancer. That fight screws everyone up with the off kilter timing and movement angles. Plus the grab and the 3/4 of the room spin. Yeah Dancer takes some getting used to. *Edit: You should prolly go to the zone behind the watchers next though if you have not yet.

Got to Smoldering Lake last night, kind of sad that Ash Lake burst into flames after Lost Izalith was found. I also found out that "The Spice Must Flow!".
