Pokemon Uranium has been released as complete today, it's a full game with 200 Pokemon and 9 Gyms. PC only unfortunately, so download your copy before Nintendo DMCA's the links.

Oh man yeah, Nintendo will come down hard on this I bet. Smiley: nod

I was too old when Pokemon came out to have any nostalgia for it now. []

Kind of curious how this is different from the infinite number of hacks on the "Nintendo DS".

It's built from scratch using RPG Maker, with a whole new (other) region, and a new Pokemon (Nuclear type).

The official download links are starting to get yanked by Nintendo's lawyers. I've removed one of the two that I originally posted, the Google Files download still works as of this post.

I wonder what sets this apart from other forms of fan-made pokemon games (legally.)

I've seen quite a few pokemon fan projects that were all able to use the images and names of pokemon. They tend to be safe as long as they don't use music from the games.

It seems to be the number of downloads that attract attention, plus media coverage. The game hit over 1.5 million downloads before the developer decided to kill the links.

Three cheers for compulsive downloading. Smiley: thumbsup

Whether it gets installed or not is an entirely separate neurological issue.

It only affects the impatient, I think. You guys who double post all the time, are you hitting refresh on the random Proxy errors or something? Cause I get the Proxy error pages when posting constantly, but I don't refresh, I just close and open the forum page again. Because when the Proxy error occurs, it actually still posts. I assume reloading would post again.
