Thoughts on a new build.Follow

Before I start putting this little one together, I wanted to post and get thoughts oh if it seems ok or I should swap some components.

Here goes:

Yes, there is only a 128g SSD drive atm. That's all I want for now.

Motherboard, tentative approval, but which specifdic variant of the ASUS P8Z68-V? there are several varieties, all with pros and cons.

Good call on the 3.7 GHz processor. It's a good compromise between the speed and the 8 cores of an i7.

Ram, definitly reccommend corsair, and nothing wrong with the speed, be aware that in benchmarking applications for i5 and i7 processors speed of the ram makes almost no diffference. Getting much cheaper slower ram and doubling the ram capacity would give you a better bang for your buck. It has to do with the way the ram controller is embedded in the CPU on the i7 family. You really need a hexacore I7 extreme edition to see any real benifit from the faster stuff.

Decent solid upper end video card, good warranty

Power supply is adequate and of good manufacturer. Given your other components though, i'd advise looking at a higher wattage PSU to give yourself the option of running a second 570 in SLI mode in a couple of years if you so wanted. A 1,000 watt PSU would be appropriate for the level of components you are speccing out if you are ever contemplating running a second video card. That depends on which variant of motherboard too somewhat.

Hard drive, SSD's are awsome and that is a 6GB / sec SSD so it will take advantage of the 6GB / sec controller on the motherboard. Only caution would be that Samsung has not been making SSD's long, so that is a new product. that being said, they generally make good hard drives and good electronics, but just be aware that you might be an "early adopter" And I would throw a pair of at least some 500gb standard rotational SATA drives in there in a raid 1 array as a backup location while you are at it if it were me building it.

As far as the case goes, that is a nice case, but for what it is, it is very overpriced. You should be able to pick up a cooler master CM690 II advanced (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119216) with similar styling for literally half the price. Or an arguably better HAF X or a Thermaltake Speedo Advanced for that same price range of the Element G. That being said, your case is the one computer component you will have longer than anything else, so get the one you really want and don't be afraid to spend some extra.
