Sure, post your hardware specifications here and we'll take a look at what you have and see if it is adequate to meet minimum specifications for the game, and if not, what you are looking at for a rebuild. Ideally I need the following information from CPUz (http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html) Processor name, Mainboard tab the motheboard model number, and Memory tab the amount of system memory you are running. From GPUz http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ I need just the graphics card name.

I also need to know which version and service pack you are running of windows. That can be found on the control panel under "system". I need to know whether you are running Windows XP or Windows 7, and if 7, are you running 32 bit or 64 bit.

Once we have that information I can give you a better idea of what may be going on.

Well, windows 7 is on service pack 1, Windows XP is on service pack 3, and vista, who knows. SP2 maybe? You get them from windows update, which is at update.microsoft.com on xp, or on the windows update icon on the control panel for vista or 7. Some games require the latest service pack to operate, but it should have installed automatically. Plus most of the service packs update dirextX. If your service pack installation is failing, it may be due to an outdated driver, particularily audio drivers. FFXIV is one of those that does better on the correct service pack usually.
