Dreaming in black and white?Follow

#1 Aug 01 2004 at 8:37 AM Rating: Decent
Here goes, I am newb to the forums but thot I would try out a thread....

I dream every nite, in color, multiple dreams as long as I have enough sleeptime. I thot this was normal until I mentioned it in conversation, and found out that my mom generally only dreams in b&w, and my boyfriend rarely dreams at all. So now I want to know how often do you dream, and is it in color or b&w?

1. Everyone dreams.
2. Everyone dreams in color.

Some people don't remmeber dreaming, some people don't remember the color.

To make a long story short, I don't take any responsibility for anything I post here. It's not news, it's not truth, it's not serious. It's parody. It's satire. It's bitter. It's angsty. Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

Some people just remember their dreams better then others, with more details as well. Unfortunatly I dream with very good detail (at least until 2 hours have passed and I cant remember what freaked me out so badly I woke myself up)

The dreams that you have that keep 'escaping' your memory, According to Dr Freud, dreams express complicated desires and unfulfilled wishes, as he [Dr Freud], who called dreams the "royal road to the unconscious."

Its all up in the air really =D but dreams are cool...

Ever have that dream when you are sitting on the toilet...

I used to when I was younger... because of this dream...

My psychology prof in College mentioned it is a common dream that 98% of the population has experienced at one time or the other... Though most people would never admit it Smiley: lol

Luckily it didnt happen very often at all... I only remember twice, and I never had to have those awful rubber sheets (my brother did tho neener neener neener!)

As for the blind.. how would you know? In fact, that would depend on many things... when did they go blind... what type of blindness etc. Next time I see a blind person I will make sure to ask him or her what his or her dreams are like =p

The Straight Dope on the dreams of the blind

I was largely being tongue in cheek but, according to the above, the dreams of those born blind contain smells, sound, touch and a sense of movement but no visual aspects. For those who become blind later in life it depends largely upon how old you were when you became blind and how long ago that was.

My copy of the Wraith: the Oblivion sourcebook Guildbook: Sandmen has a page of dream trivia including "Seventy percent of all dreams are in color". Granted that's not a source I'd base my medical thesis on but they must have gotten the trivia from somewhere. That doesn't mean the OP's mother is right or wrong -- we don't remember most of our dreams anyway so even if the bulk of her dreams were in color, it's doubtful that she'd know.
