Okay so i had this random thought today, its ****** like most of my thoughts but i thought i would write it down.

In 1990/91 Iraq invaded an oil rich country. The country happened to be Kuwait. Some say that this invasion was obviously for the wealth that Kuwait represented but also to get the Iraqi populations mind off the poor economic, social and political problems that Iraq was facing.

Saddam also blamed Kuwait for the problems facing Iraq, saying that they were keeping oil prices down by over production and by taking over oil production in Kuwait they could put prices at a reasonable level thus improving quality of life for his fellow country men and the people of Kuwait.

Twelve Years Later

Now in 2003 the US invaded an oil rich country. This happened to be Iraq. Some say that this invasion was obviously for the wealth that Iraq represented but also to get the Americain populations mind off the poor economic, social and political problems that the United States was facing.

President G.W.Bush also blamed Iraq for the problems facing United States, saying that Iraq had WMD and threatened the security of the nation, and that by invading Iraq he would be improving the quality of life for his fellow country men and the people of Iraq.

Side note
Oil and story aside i would like to point out that:

US killed an estimated 75-100,000 Iraqi troops and 13,000 Iraqi civilians in 1991 with another estimated 70,000 Iraqi civilians dead due from war related damage such as damage to medical facilities and water and power grids. When US tried it in 2003 they killed 6,000-7,000 Iraqi troops and caused around 10-13,000 Iraqi civilian casualties.

When Iraq has killed 148 US troop killed in combat in first Gulf War, and 679 deaths in combat in second Gulfwar.

The thing is, in trying to force freedom on the Iraqi people the United States has got almost as much blood on its hands as Saddam. No wonder why they are not happy with us, getting rid of Saddam was a good thing but killing an estimated 200-250,000 Iraqis out of 22 million. According to the US department of state Saddam has killed anywhere from 340-390,000 Iraqis. http://www.state.gov/p/nea/rls/19675.htm, the US is catching up.

good post.

The part that caught my attention was we killed 13,000 civilians. 13,000... I wonder if any of those people had dreams, or would have enjoyed playing something like FFXI. I wonder if any of them were kids once, who had their own ambitions and fantasies. There's no doubt there's something wrong with all of this. But this has been going on for a very, very long time. People have been dying in wars for a very long time. But still there are a few who oppose it...yet it doesn't really change the state of things too much. People write books, form thoughts, post on websites:), even some ppl go so far as to protest...but the nature of man remains constant.

Men fall again, and repeat the mistakes of history. Take a look at Josef Stalin...here was politician we make fun of today. But his quotes like: "Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything." and "When one person dies it's a tragedy, one a million die it's a statistic."
still apply.

So where's the answer to the problem? All I can do is remember the people who died (on both sides), and hope people will one day take a little time to understand one another.

Well instead of remembering the dead you can do a little thing like not vote for Bush :P

But yeah :

To make a long story short, I don't take any responsibility for anything I post here. It's not news, it's not truth, it's not serious. It's parody. It's satire. It's bitter. It's angsty. Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.
