Cowboy Beebop Questions :: Dark Age of Camelot

I have watched the whole volume of Cowboy Beebop and I have a few questions that I couldn't find the answers to. If anyone knows anything such as possibly getting a more in depth story from reading the manga or through internet searches that would help. My questions are:

1.) What was the cause of Spike and Vicious hatred/beef toward each other(they were once friends)...was it because of Julia?

2.) What happened to cause Spike and Vicious to split from the syndicate?

3.) Who had Julia first Spike or Vicious?

4.) Do you think that Spiked survived at the end?

5.) At one point the Syndicate tried to kill Spike was it because he left or was it because Vicious had orders to do so?

Spike wants to kill vicous because of Julia, Viscous wants to kill Spike because Spike challanges his authority as the "alpha male" and he can't allow Spike to roam around meddling in his affairs.

2.) What happened to cause Spike and Vicious to split from the syndicate?

Spike left because his morals and ehtics were too high for the Syndicate and viscous left because his were too low.

3.) Who had Julia first Spike or Vicious?

Spike.

4.) Do you think that Spiked survived at the end?

No, he's definately dead.

5.) At one point the Syndicate tried to kill Spike was it because he left or was it because Vicious had orders to do so?

If you mean the time in the cathedral with the stained glass window is was because Spike was interfering in Syndicate buisness and there was also a standing order to kill him on sight for leaving.

Viscous never left the Syndicate. He killed the elders and took control of it.

Thanks Smash for clearing some things up for me. It wasn't the part with the Cathedral it was a flashback that Spike had of the syndicate shooting up a bar or a small apartment that Spike was in not sure though =/.

I thought they were brothers. Not just in the syndicate, but related by blood? They look a lot alike and I remember it being eluded to in the story line a lot.

From my numerous times running through the series, it seems appropriate to deem Viscious and Spike as partners, in the syndicate. Viscious was obviously on a short fuse to begin with, although he seemed to remain under control. Spike smiled a lot when he "did the job" in the flashbacks, but he always did appear to look empty inside. To me, it just seems that Julia was that little monkey wrench thrown between the two.

Julia slept with Vicious. For what reason I forgot but I know she doesn't love him. I think Julia slept w/ him to protect Spike but I haven't seen that series in a while so I might be wrong.
