Old War Era HelmetFollow

I found an old British helmet in my garage w/ the initials "DDW" on the front. It's pretty old, and I'm guessing it's either from WWI or WWII. It doesn't really look like a war helmet, but something that a civilian would have used. Kinda like a volunteer damage control type group or something.

Does anybody know what "DDW" (regarding WWI or WWII) stands for or what it means?

Nah..it's just been sitting on a shelf with alot of dust and spiders for about 20-30 years probably. I just wondered what it meant, and I couldn't find any info on it. It probably belonged to my landlord's dad or something.
