How do I find out if I have SP1 installed?Follow

#1 Sep 01 2004 at 11:57 PM Rating: Decent
reason I ask is when I try to run Limewire, it gives me an error asking to go to www.java.com to install the latest java runtime environment. When I try to download it, it says I can't and when I go to it's FAQs, it seems like I meet the requirements all except for SP1 which I'm not exactly sure I have installed.

finally got my windows XP activated without any problems, but now this. Isn't SP1 suppose to automatically come with the installation of WIN XP?

any help please? :(

yes I have a legal copy of it, but the cd key is already in use. So I'm using a working key that someone gave me to activate windows xp.

edit: but the original copy is not mine, but a friends.

does this make a difference?

Just go buy it and stop stealing someone else's CD key.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think it's considered stealing someone else's CD key because if I was, doesn't that mean they can't use it? I'm sure it was just generated somehow.

That would make it an illegal copy Smiley: oyvey

true... I guess I was assuming there was a way to copy the CD which wouldn't make it a "legal" copy.

sorry I guess I mis-understood what you meant.

Just pay for the software or use an OS that you can get for free. It's not ok to steal it because it's easy, or because MSoft has a lot of money, or whatever rationale you're currently using.
