So, if I switch them all to one user name, they'll combine?
#153 Aug 30 2007 at 9:18 AM Rating: Decent
that is what i am understanding.
#154 Aug 30 2007 at 11:44 AM Rating: Decent
anyway to make this a sticky thread?

also looks like we have a few more CPUs clocking in. Kaelesh great job on the 400+ points on a single WU. that is fantasic.

not sure how the forum feedback site works, but i just posted there to have this turned into a sticky thread for the OT.

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=3;mid=1188507082172964447;num=0;page=1

so if ya like that idea, go say so please.

As much as I would love to this turn into a sticky, I must invoke OOT:R&R#8

as much as you and i disagree on things, at least the support of Folding@Home is something we can agree on.

As far as I can tell, the harder the WU, the more points you get.

points = 110 * (daysPerWU)

where daysPerWU is the number of days it took to complete the unit.

In for it, but after 10 hours my ****** laptop is still at 63/1500.
Guess I have to install it on my gaming PC which is at least 4 times faster.

run it on both.

FYI up to 40 users and 44 CPUs were getting closer to the 100 user mark.

I need to do this--not at work, because I don't know if my boss would kill me for it but at home. Sorry, I've been preoccupied. It's a great idea and better than being hooked up for the SETI project.

Damn straight.

When my computer finds the cure for brain worms while I'm jerking off to streaming midget scat I'm gonna patent that **** and get rich. I figure adding the title of Doctor to my name will help the establishment take me more seriously.

I signed up last night! I'm not on there, but I signed up. I left my 'puter on all night last night, and when I checked it before I left this morning, it said it was only at 255/1500. Not 100% sure what that means, but I'm assuming that 1500 is 1 WU (not sure what that is either, but I don't have to know) and I haven't completed one yet, so I don't show up on any lists. It can go really slow, Belki. I admit I don't have mine optimized and it only uses like 53% of my PC, but the one I've completed was 2000 frames at 1m9s per frame. I turn my PC off most nights, so it took like two or three days for that one to finish up. The one I'm on now is only 250 frames but it's running at a rate of one frame every nine minutes.

Science is weird!

You can control the amount of processor being used, the default setting is the lowest possible. If you aren't going to use the machine you can up the value and then turn it back down when you want to use the computer.

Ficksed your smiley too

also with only 1500 parts to your WU you will only get small points. most of the WU i get are in the 5,000,000,000 in size, but i do allow for larger then 5M files too on all of my systems even my old laptop.

if you were at roughly 50% after a few hours, you will be on the board soon.

also wanted to note that the allah team has moved up from the 17000 range to the 9000 range, the lower the number the better the team. so very nice.

Smiley: dubious

Five billion frames? That's madness. I'm also allowing for greater than 5MB work assignments but the largest I had was the 2000 frame one, and it took about 36 hours. Five billion frames would mean my computer would be running long after I'm worm-food.
