Facebook TimelinesFollow

So, Timelines are finally live, after having been introduced in September.

I went ahead and converted my profile. Anyone else done the same yet? As far as I can tell, there's no way to convert back.

It basically is a way to view everything anyone has ever done on Facebook since the beginning of time they started using it.

The real question is, will they eventually make the switch mandatory like the last profile update?

It will be mandatory eventually. It's the Zuckerburg motto. If they don't like it, shove it down their throats.

I just checked it out. It's a little better then the newsfeed ******** where facebook tries to tell me what I really care about, but it's still a poopy layout. I'm in the camp of people that really don't give a crap what it looks like, I'll adapt. I really use facebook only as a means to keep abreast of what my friends are up to, and it's the social media platform that they, and the rest of the known universe, uses.

Honestly, I kinda like it. If only because I have a folder full of desktop wallpapers I can show off now.

The most surprising thing, for me at least, is seeing Ugly willingly use a meme.

My husband went through and "sanitized" his Facebook, since that's the place where he blows off steam.

Me? All I used it for is dribbles of generic information and sharing funny cat pictures, and at one point I played a great deal of Farmville so there are also a ton of requests to help lost cows in there.

Meh, I've accepted that by the time I get used to the timeline layout, FB will have another layout coming. I use FB quite a bit, for personal use as well as work and professional use.

Social media is becoming very intertwined, particularly with people deciding to link all their accounts. I can tell you that as paralegal who has to do a lot of investigating, I love it when people link all their accounts.
