I heard there would be an awesome meteor shower all night.

I wouldn't know, being blind and all.

Check it out and let me know.

G'night.

There is for the next few nights. Or so my star gazer app on my ipad told me the other night (was wondering what the big bright "star" was in the east I see when I get home).

Our skies here are completely full of clouds, so no going outside to stare at the sky for me.

You're blind?

How are these words transformed for you to read them? Do you feel them or hear them or something?

How many fingers am I holding up?

Btw - disappointed. I was hoping for a post about a blood-sucking, rip-roaring Clooney vampire movie.

Nah, I was just curious. Do glasses help the fuzzy eye?

I watched a show about a blind Korean guy competing in an ultramarathon a couple weeks ago. It showed him 'writing' in his diary with braille sheets. I kind of wondered if those sheets could be read digitally.

I imagine there is a whole world of sightless computing tools that I'm clueless about.

Glasses help with the fuzzy one as before the whole systemic neuro-whatzit kicked in I was already astigmatic with a 20/200 in that eye anyway. The inflamation of the retina and occasional clouds of white blood cells make things worse, though, and then the glasses are no help at all.

Technically speaking the star would be Rudolf's nose.

Could be wrong, but I think it's the wrong time for Mars atm. :3

Well you can catch Mars around dusk, I think. Smiley: tongue

The University won't let me play with their telescopes any more, so I need to get my own. Smiley: frown

What did you do to lose the privilege? Break one? Try to use them to spy on the ladies' locker room?

Um, we got hammered and may have broken a really, really expensive telescope. It may have been on fire briefly...
