The first "Work from home" thread got me thinking. Does anyone know of good employment opportunities you can do from home? Next semester, I will be starting school and am looking for something I can do from home but I have heard of people getting involved in pyramid schemes and the like just because they looked legit and required little to no start-up cash. I'm looking for something legitimate and recognized. Thanks for your help in advance! I will resume my Google search.

Do you live in Nevada? If so you can become an "Escort" and work from the comfort of your home.

Nope, don't live in Nevada and I kinda have this thing about people I don't know being in my house so don't think that would work anyway... But thanks!

Doesn't have to be in your house. Could be the car.

Check the spam section of your e-mail inbox. You'd be surprised how many different people are offering to send you money.

More seriously, what skills do you have?

I did technical support for Verizon, in bound calls in a call center environment. I've done medical billing and data entry. I know my way around pretty much all the Microsoft Office programs. Filing, faxing, admissions, etc for my local MHMR group now.

Most of the legitimate jobs I've heard about or had acquaintances work for were in the medical, legal, and IT fields.

As someone in the other thread mentioned, apparently medical transcription is still in the growing/stable phase and there are people needing the service. Take some certification to get qualified and then you just type medical records until your eyes bleed.

Legal is pretty much the same thing, contact some attorneys and see if they need someone to type case files for them at a reasonable cost, don't know how this will pan out but have heard that it is a possibility.

IT is web development from home, had a friend that did it on a free-lance and corporate level, but he had a 2 year degree and pretty lax company.

You could try a site like elance.com, where you can bid on freelance work. I don't believe you hav eto put out any of your own money on elance; they tack on a commission on top of your bid, and get paid that way.

If you had any programming skills I'd hire you.

Haha, just kidding. No I wouldn't.
