I'm sad. Ever since I lost weight, I can't drink nearly as much as I could.

Throughout college I could drink quite a bit and not even feel a buzz. Even my early career, a couple drinks with dinner had no affect on me. Recently I've been visiting with potential customers and people wanting to sell me things, and have been treated to dinner. A couple beers and a meal. And I've noticed that even after the first beer, even while eating, I start feeling light headed. After two 20oz beers my I feel it in my head quite a bit. Almost to the point where I don't feel like I should drive.

I'm trying to understand what happened. I changed my metabolism by going on my year long diet and losing almost 90 lbs. But did I increase it or decrease it?

Less weight, less the beer has to go through before it affects you.

Assuming you are @ 180 lbs and 30ish years old:

2x20oz of beer at 6% puts you at ~.10 BAC. So, yeah; don't drive.

Don't feel bad. I can't even get through a single wine cooler before I end up falling asleep. Alcohol does weird things to me.

I have a bottle of Merlot from Bordeaux, it's a special. I've been saving it for almost a year. I'm going to consume it all by myself tonight.

Yea...you can stop feeling like you shouldn't drive and starting knowing that you shouldn't drive after 2 20oz beers.

False. It's pronounced Mer-lot from Bord-e-ucks.

Yeah, drink it now. Merlot is probably good for a few years, but it's generally the fortified wines that get REALLY awesome with age. (I luv you tawny port)
