We've had a spammer epidemic in OOT for the last couple of weeks. There really are that many nuked posts in there. For some reason this particular batch likes to topic spam all in one forum at a time. Either someone needs to make more new topics or bring up the old ones. I dislike the latter approach though, and I try not to make too many admin topics myself in any one forum as it tends to annoy people if all the topics are started by one person, especially one person they can't rate. So yeah, make more topics.

I actually thought the zorbing one was a legit thread. I didn't report the Birthday Wish since it didn't have any links/ads, but I reported the other one it made in the GG Forum.

It's the whole "my first post is a link to my youtube video I uploaded solely to get hitts so youtube will pay me" ones that I object to on thhose. the content itself wasn't bad. its mainly that the yooutube account linked was the same as the account used to make the post that was the reason it was nuked. if we leave those, we get flooded with youtube spammers once the word gets out. I'd rather err on the side of caution.

I for one am glad that you have that stance, because they annoy me just as much, if not more, than the spammers.

Youtube will pay you for enough hits?
Yeah, they have this youtube partners program. http://www.youtube.com/yt/partners/ It ends up being something like $5 per 1,000 unique views. Most of the spammers are idiots who haven't figured out basic math ratios though. What they usually do is copy popular videos, make a secondary link and hope no one notices, then spam it enough that hopefully one of theirs gets picked up somewhere as the real thing. Other times they legitimaltly are posting a real video, but its still spamming so it still gets nuked.

Yea, I have a partnered channel and a monetized one (there are some differences), but it's not easy to make cash from it. I haven't gotten a dime yet due to there being a payment threshold, but then I also don't produce tons of content lol!
Some people make a pretty decent living at it, but really the idea is to springboard off to get sponsors.
Also had to edit because YouTube Partnership is like ******* Fight Club.
