This is why everyone else on the planet mocks our legal system. Between this and that crazy ***** releasing swarms of tarantulas back into the wild today, I really think we should just nuke half the planet.

A lot of the mocking about our legal system comes from misinformation about particular topics. Quite frequently a case involving hot coffee and McDonalds is cited even though most don't know anything about the case specifics... I have no idea if the link above is true but I'll hold judgement until when/if I get more information.

I don't think the fact that people bring stupid and/or frivolous cases proves very much at all. If and when they win, which is exceedingly rarely, that's another matter.
I think the sad part of this story is that it is plausible, however fake. That people like this exist and would inspire such stories is maddening.
