For those who have no idea who she is.

Honestly, I thought it could not possibly be her. I work in a call center, and when she first called in, she seemed like any other person. I recognized her voice and her name instantly, but thought that I had to be mistaken. Ms. Atwood would not call in herself. She would not try to follow instructions to verify her own equipment. She's Margaret ******* Atwood, famous author, playwright, activist, feminist, Order of Canada holder... She doesn't do such things!

And yet, she does. She was just a person, no airs, no demands. She was perfectly willing to follow my instructions, without complaint. Both her and her partner Mr. Gibson could not have been more amazing examples of how anyone, celebrity or not, should act towards everyone they encounter.

Daily, I get people who aren't worth a plug nickel, who are not famous, who aren't wealthy, who shamefully demand and rage at me. Yet this person who one would expect should be pulling some ego trip acted with the utmost kindness and professionalism.

Just had to share!

Yea, I know, I likely care more than it matters, but still, it was really shocking. We do have Donald Sutherland as a client as well, but it's his caretakers that calls in. There's a few others, but she is one of the largest stars (at least in my opinion, but then I am biased for authors anyway) we have currently.

That's pretty neat. Did you say anything to her to let her know that you knew who she was?

Should have asked her if she writes sci-fi.

I was tempted, but at the same time, she wasn't making a huge deal of who she was, and I didn't want to start fawning all over her. However, two or three times I did sort of space out and lose my place in what we were doing. Talking to a living legend whom you look up to is awesome enough, I didn't want to spoil it with acting like an idiot.

Well I was going to ask to confirm it was her... but right then she called over Mr. Gibson to come assist her so I had confirmation before I even looked at her file to see his name as a contact. But yea, like I said, the voice was very familiar, and the name was an instant recognition. I was just sort of stunned that she was calling herself.
