I've got my ticket to the Seahawks' first game, assuming I can talk the wife in letting me out of the house for the day. We're working on a variety of bribes and whatnot in compensation, and negotiations look hopeful at this point.

Of the possible opponents I find myself fearing Green Bay the most. Them being the only one of the 3 possible teams (SF, GB, NO) that have played us close at home over the last couple of years. So much for hoping the Bears or Lions would stumble their way to the playoffs. Smiley: frown

They say it's our year if we can do it, and wow I hope they're right, we might not get another chance for a while. Next year's schedule looks grueling already. Smiley: frown

Speaking of "stumbling into the playoffs". Um... Go Chargers! Or something like that.

I'd say I was the most sorry for the Steelers, who had to sit through the final minutes of that game, and that lengthy ensuing overtime period, knowing some impossible series of cards had already fallen their way, and this was the last thing that needed to happen for them to make their miraculous appearance in the post-season. Having the dream almost be real, over and over again...

But I can't. Smiley: grin

It is very unfortunate that the Saints did not get home field advantage. It will be rough going for us, especially if we end up back in Seattle Smiley: frown.

Cant believe the Eagles are in the playoffs. They were projected at the start of the season around here at a .500 club at best. Im so happy that they beat the Cowgirls to win the NFC east and send them home. The look on Jerry Jones face was priceless.

Go Birds!!!

But really for all the road woes it's not like Philly is great at home thankfully, it sounds better on paper than trying to go visit Green Bay this time of year at least.

Very true, but at the same time it's supposed to be very cold at the very least, and we are not very good in the cold, much less in snow if there is any.

Can't speak, voice is all but gone, and a little bit of a cold on top of that. Consequences of standing out in the driving rain with 68,000 other people for hours it seems.

Awesome fun though, you can forget how much energy there be in a stadium. All happy to win and move on, moving up from last year and such. That being said I wish we weren't so turtle happy. I get the concept behind the whole "keeping everything in front of you" scheme, but it burned us in Atlanta last year, and there were some dreadful flashbacks this past game. Thank goodness Marques Colston can neither tell time or pass the ball. Smiley: rolleyes

Were going to have to play a heck of a lot better next week. If Carolina comes to town I don't care so much if we win or lose, but SF, there's some bad blood there.

I was really hoping SD would win. I felt a little better about the prospect of them coming to Foxboro than I do about NE going to Denver.

Payton vs. Manning round XV, with all the usual hype. Smiley: lol

Scary thing about that is Denver found a defense somewhere in a back pocket or something last game. The thought of having a defense with that kind of top-teir QB? Sends some chills down the spine.

Not really. Michaels was gimpy and SD didn't adjust their game accordingly (continued trying to build a power run game long after it should have been obvious it wasn't working). If SD had come out with a more pass focused game (or even pass/run balanced) out of the gate, that game would have had a completely different ending. SD was successful at slowing down the Denver offense, but not at stopping it. Which would have been more than sufficient to win if they'd been able to put points on the damn board in the first 3/4ths of the game.

Brady isn't going to have the same issues IMO. I still give the advantage to Denver, but not by much.

Horrible officiating, that's all I'll say.

I don't feel so bad about the fumble at the endzone we kept, given we coughed it up the next play anyway, not a game changer thank goodness. The 15 yard penalty that wasn't though, that's the kind of thing that takes a kicker out for a game, not cool to miss that. Seahawks scoring a TD on the ensuing drive just rubs salt on it.

Oh well, guess I can't complain too much. Interception to end the game off a Sherman tip was a storybook ending. Some ugly Kaepernick passes towards the end.

There were enough turn overs and missed opportunities that the officiating didn't lose it for them.

No for sure, out of the 4-5 questionable calls nothing ended up causing a huge difference (thank goodness!). That lack-of-a-15 yarder on the punter stands out, but there was still a lot of yardage left to pound through if the 49ers keep the call, no for sure points at least. The goal-line "fumble" or whatever it was, that could of been ugly if the Seahawks punch it in on 4th down, but that really turned out better for the 49ers anyway. Having the ball on the 10ish instead of the 1ish and such.

Looking forward to watching the best offense in the league play the best defense in the league. Smiley: grin

I mean, the officiating was quite bad. As you said though, Kaepernick was determined to lose anyway with some of those passes. That end play by Sherman was awesome though, and his post-game comment was hilarious.

That being said, I'll continue rooting against the Seahawks in the SB because I'm still bitter about our two losses.

And we now have a superbowl controversy on our hands, and not one that involves whether or not Richard Sherman is an ***. Family was one of the winners of the team lottery among season ticket holders, and we can purchase 2 tickets to the superbowl. Funny thing is there's about 7 or 8 of us that rotate through 5 seats normally, so choosing which 2 people go might be fun, or not.

We're still deciding what to do...
Pass on the opportunity, and not spend $3,200.:0 (0.0%)
Stay home and resell the tickets for an easy $5-6,000.:6 (75.0%)
Cage Deathmatch to decide who goes.:2 (25.0%)
Some other less reasonable choice.:0 (%)
Total:8

The Superbowl won't even be good this year. Sell the tickets and watch the game from home.

I think the killer if nothing else will be the horror stories about the traffic (My parents view a car on the road ahead of them as a "bad traffic" day), and the cost of lodging. Besides doubling your money in a week by simply reselling the ticket?

That's kinda tough to pass up. Smiley: lol

Yeah the traffic in that area is already bad enough, i mean its between Philly and NYC. It gets nasty traffic, and the cost of a hotel that weekend will be crazy expensive if not already booked up.
