If the error is from scripts hosted by the ad company there is nothing we can do about it.

Ad companies are absolutely horrible at writing anything approaching well formed html or javascript.

Yeah, the site is practically unworkable right now since every page gets locked up and then eventually spits out a bad script error from http://ad.batanga.com/

Edit: Actually, since I posted that I haven't gotten an error so I don't know if I had an unlucky streak with the ad lottery or what.

There's a difference between an error in some ad javascript and the ad doesn't work properly.

It's an entirely other matter when that error affects the site itself. I'll try finding an ad that gets served from batanga.com.

In the meantime, what happened with the site when one of those ads would load, Joph?

I'm not sure if you mean when it would load properly or when it loaded improperly. I wouldn't know one ad from another if it worked. When it's not working, it's as described: a long hang-up on the page, the browser gets that "Not Responding" look to it (Firefox icon replaced by a Windows Maximized Window icon) and eventually comes back and spits out a "Script not working, cancel or retry?" prompt.

I had this about six times in a row and then Adblocked Batanga.com. Then I got it again regardless which prompted me to post. I haven't seen i since and don't know if that's due to the AdBlock, the ad now working or luck of the draw in what ads are being served.

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know.

And it's back!

I actually had it happen while opening this thread (and about four other times in the last five minutes).

As Ash reported but just to say it twice, the error pop-up claims the issue is:

Script: http://ad.batanga.com/publisher/btghispanoclick.js:59

The ads causing this problem have been removed.

Please let us know if this is not the case.

Since adding this address to my firewall, my IExplorer hasn't locked up using this site.

216.156.242.0/8

And btw, it was still locking up my browser today before I made this change.

Although this is not a real solution to the problem because other websites use this address for adds, but at least it might help in determining what is causing the problem.
