Wowhead white page weirdnessFollow

Frequently, when trying to open Wowhead, I have to wait minutes before anything happens and then all I get is a white page with the basic text with no drop-downs or pictures. This also happens with Elitist Jerks and a few other sites not WoW related such as a local news site I like. I've tried clearing the caches but that doesn't help. Any ideas? By the way, I'm a technophobe, so convoluted technical solutions won't work because I won't understand them! =/
