Was there a change to the default font for posts, or am I just blind?

I think we all know the answer to that one.

Actually, it does appear to be larger now.

It's also a sans serif whereas before it was Times New Roman or some other standard serif type.

(As in, in the typing box. It's always been a sans serif font when actually displayed)

I've been staring at this text for hours trying to figure out the difference- the new font isn't monospaced! Personally I like monospace fonts, so this will take some time before I can accept it.

Whatever the font choice or size, I'd prefer it to be consistent across posts fields and reply fields.

Yes, multi-row text input areas (most commonly found in the forums and wiki areas) now use the normal site font by default. This was done primarily so when you're writing a forum post you can see it more like it will be shown, and it's generally nicer to look at.

But of course some people will prefer to keep a monospaced font for these areas, so an option for that has been added to the user area. Go to your user page and click the Forum Settings link. It's at the bottom of the first section.

Very nice to have the option for either way. The larger non-monospaced font is nice also. I like the new way, but will probably prefer the monospaced for wiki due to the use of repeated narrow spaced characters like ' and |.

I appreciate the option. I personally prefer the monospace but didn't think it was worth ******** about. Smiley: thumbsup

I don't know about the rest of you, but the most jarring difference for me wasn't the change of monospace, but the fact that text field font is now vastly larger than the regular site font.

I've include a screen cap.

That's odd, because on my end the text in the editor is the same size as the text in the posts.

Maybe it's a browser issue? I'm using Chrome.
