Simply click the red X in the top right of the banner (and reload page if you constantly back up to a starter page), and you won't see it for quite a while (1 week?).

New games groom the Zam empire so they'd be silly to not place them everywhere. Besides lots of dedicated EQ people do like to dabble in other games too.

After all, if was Final Fantasy (iirc) that blew this site up beyond a niche (albeit large in it's heyday) EQ thing. I remember Warhammer, etc. getting a good push at launch too (and those Zam boards were quite busy at first).

The ad is from ZAM, advertising a different subsite. It's not from Blizzard. You're not calling ZAM a lame company, are you? :)

I'm more concerned with what his resolution is at if it's taking up "a quarter of browser space". What, are you still using 800x600?

I'm sure your overinflated sense of entitlement will get the people who provide that convenience more obligating to scramble to fix your minor inconvenience.

Calling your attention to what someone said earlier: This isn't an ad for Diablo. It's an ad for an additional site in the Zam network that happens to be Diablo related. Now, you do appear to be a premium user, but a little common courtesy, nay, simply a better approach is called for. Kindly and calmly, without putting down anyone, make a request to add in an option to hide all banners of this type as a default.

I'd support you in such a request, despite the fact that I'd never use such a feature. It sounds like a good idea. But when you throw in attacks on things, people will get defensive and your message will be lost. So it's up to you, continue things the way you are, have your request lost in an argument that will likely get locked, or take a "my bad" on the attitude and restate your request in a civil and rational manner that enough of us can get behind, which will likely lead admins to seriously consider your request.

So you pay for Zam Premium, but their products are "*****"? The ad is for a new Zam Network site. As someone mentioned, all you have to do is click the X in the corner to close it for a week. Plenty of people are picking up Diablo 3, and regardless of whether you are, you should be able to recognize the virtue of letting current users know that they have a D3 database site. Then again, you're doing a job of painting yourself as an entitled ********* so maybe clicking an X is far too much effort to ask of you.

Personally, I'd prefer to not have a one-week reset on the banner, unless the content of it changes. I don't mind a one-time notification of new Zam features.

Yeah...except that isn't working. It's there everytime I log on to ZAM.

One more post closer to doom. Thanks, Spoonless, you jerk.Smiley: mad

Mine is not set to do that and I'm getting it back anyway.

It should now stay closed between browser sessions. It re-opening between sessions was a bug that has been fixed.

If you are wiping your cookies then it can't remember that you closed it. If you keep your cookies intact it will work properly now and stay closed.

Sorry for the annoyance of this box constantly re-opening. It was a new system and had a couple unexpected bugs. We want any alert boxes like that to be informative without being annoying. It is not an advertisement spot that we sell, rather a way for us to inform our users of new things in our network, or alert a user if there's a specific problem on a page.
