CAPTCHA InvalidFollow

#1 Aug 21 2013 at 10:37 AM Rating: Decent
I can not find any forum on ZAM that provides information on CAPTCHA . I did a search on the forum but found no info.
Up until 2 days ago I was able to go into WOWHEAD to look up information about WOW. Then something changed and now I get what I will call a blank screen on WOWHEAD. The only options I have on that page is to Log In or Register.
When I attempt to Log In with my ZAM email address and password I get a Red error message. "CAPTCHA Invalid"
I tried my other active email address and get the same message.
When I attempt to Register on WOWHEAD I get the same CAPTCHA Invalid error message.
I am logged into ZAM right now with my email address and password which is exactly the same that I tried to use on WOWHEAD.
I have verified and tested the latest version of JAVA.
I can not find a WOWHEAD Forum or way to get help with this problem.

When i go to log into wowhead from a test account, I do not see a Captcha style image or anything on the screen. I do see that they have a javascript error, but it shouldn't be preventing anything. Ironically, I don't see a logout feature to test other things.
Have you tried just logging in with your username, without the e-mail address? Also, have you already tried a Ctrl+refresh on the page, or dumping your temporary internet file cache?

Also, are you using a browser with script blocking capability, and if so do you have that enabled?

Tried your suggestions and still can not log on.

No temporary internet files in cache.
Browser script enabled
Java script enabled.
Tried just user name.

Control+refresh. Not sure what/how to do that.

Still can not log into wowhead.
When I attempt to Register on wowhead, I use the same email address as I have on ZAM I receive the same red CAPTCHA invailed message.

This problem really has me puzzled because up until 3 days ago now I did not have any problem logging on to wowhead.
And I have not changed anything on my PC.

It might theoretically be your ISP using compression to try and manage bandwidth. I only mention that as a possibility due to the size of your particular ISP. the fact that it's asking for captcha at all, when I can't even see that as a thing it's even looking for on this end, could also mean you have a rogue browser element at work that might be attempting to hijack your logins. This isn't a regional thing due to ads interfering for sure. You might also try grabbing a different browser than you would normally use temporarily and see if you have the same issue with that one. If a different browser works, it's probably something cached or broke or hacked on your end. If it still doesn't work, it's your ISP or on the server end, but since we're not seeing any other reports of whatever is broken from other people, i'm inclined to think it isn't on the server side at this time.

Hmm. OK, this may sound like a strange question, but what is the exact web address you are using to get to wowhead, and if you instead use the zam networks drop down menu and click on the link to wowhead that way, do you go to a different place?

Only other thing I can think of is if they have multiple login servers (which would be wierd since thats going to be a secure server usually and would need a certificate, which costs money) and one of them is set that way and the other isn't?

All go to the same exact page. I have favorites that i have been using for years, www.wowhead.com and the Zam Wowhead Tab.
Looks like there are some other players with the same problem that started on the same day. I doublt very much if they are on the same ISP.

The Problem IS on my end. I do not know what caused the problem and need help to fix it.

I have two hard drives on this PC.

F:/ drive OS is Windows Vista and IE 8.
I use this drive to play games including WOW.
And the F:/ drive is where I have the problem with accessing Wowhead.

C:/ drive OS is Windows 7 and IE 8.
I also have WOW installed on this drive.
I CAN access www.wowhead.com from this drive with no problem but I do not use this drive for games.
