I'd like to add the Hero's Journey Achievement Buried Sea armor tasks to the https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/Everquest_Guide_The_Buried_Sea guide but am unsure how to reformat the page and properly categorize the armors. Additionally, some of the armors types don't display properly when using the ZAM network search function, for example: "hero's plate" search. Check the discuss page at the link.

I don't dare mess with the guide page because:
1) Hero's armor aren't part of the original armor progression and do not require; adventure merchants, alternate currency, nor faction levels to purchase.
2) I will bork the page, we don't want that, do we?

Probably don't want to mess with that page, since Hero's Achievements are separate, and if categorized in-game by expansion, then pages like https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/eq:Seeds_of_Destruction_Achievements for SoD have been made. The armor / achievements you're talking about are part of the Hero's Journey Achievements at https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=5553 in the 70-80 range of progression, other than the Ak'Anon Strike Force one.

I don't really see any place appropriate on the guide page, but maybe a mention and link in the armor sections about the updated hero's journey achievements and armor, but it's not really part of the expansion. Personally, I'd PM Bludwyng with such questions. I'm not sure if he reads the feedback very often or not.

If you do, might ask him about the naming of the https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/Maps_and_Cartography as most without the game prefix (EQ:) specify the game in paranthesis at the end like https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/Maps_and_Cartography_(EQ) and just give a general all game on the non-tagged name and links to the specific game pages. Very good work on that page also. Smiley: clap And something that's been needed for a long time.

EDIT: Quick example pages: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/Station_Cash for all appropriate games, and https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/Station_Cash_(EQ) and (EQ2), (FR), and (DCUO) for EQ2, Free Realms, and DC Universe Online.

I've added Maps and Cartography to Categories: Templatized | EverQuest | Guides (EQ) to the wiki templates pages, is that not proper?

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/Category:Guides_%28EQ%29
https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/Category:EverQuest

The EQ wiki lacks a lot of things, namely a single source page with links to all armor sets.

Yea, otherwise it wouldn't show up in the searches. But since it's not specific to any one game as is, is why I thought the un-tagged in the name version should be a global page, with generic info for all games that use maps and coordinate systems (pretty much everything), and have the name on there. I'm not positive though, that just seems the way things are done, and why I suggested asking Bludwyng.

It's probably ok as is, just thought it would go along with already established patterns. Here's another multi-game term that just give basic info and links to specific game pages: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/Currency

As far as the armor sets, was just a few ideas that might work out better until you talked to Bludwyng about it to know for sure. Expansing the EQ:Armor Sets page would probably a good place to put that info too, or even a separate page detailing it, and linking to that page in the Armor Sets page.

I'll do whatever Bludwyng thinks best, so that's easily solved. I'll be expanding the Maps and Cartography page to include new linked pages for map label and color standardization practices, and any help you can offer would be appreciated.

Will be starting a thread soon at the EQ general forums discussing new and improved map standards and could use your help, thanks.

Will be glad to help where I can. You seem to have it pretty well under control though. Very thorough. I might not follow all of your guidelines any more, but have in the past. When I was making EQ2 maps from log file, I would use duck alot to slow down and get the detail better. I just don't do it any more, as I don't like to put so much time into it.

Thought I might mention the details of the map files, in case someone wanted to manually (out-of-game) edit them, and how to convert in-game /loc to map locations as explained in this post: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/fcluster/gotopost.pl?mid=1181103120166445609

Okay, I now understand what you meant by global zam wiki rather than local and exclusive.to the Everquest wiki.

http://www.zam.com/wiki/Maps_and_Cartography

By the way, the conversion methods used in the linked post? yeah, I just went blind from all that, but will include it on M&C links.

Yea, I got an easier to understand post somewhere, that's just the one I have linked on my user page and was the first time explaining it. It's been referenced in some other non-zam wiki pages too. May I should have more examples? Either way, I've definitely worded it better somewhere. I'll look for it.
