A particularly zealous spammer has created 35 threads on =22.

It's a little ridiculous.

All fixed now. I swear they are putting way more effort into this than it is worth. I think they are even timing when admins are on or not. The entire country of India should be ashamed of themselves for letting these idiots persist. We're not the only forum getting hit by this particular batch, not by a long shot.

I don't have the mind of a spammer but I don't get what the value is of this. Are they just getting paid per link spammed or they get paid for their spammed site's Google rank so they just hit every forum on earth hoping enough links stay on abandoned forums to raise the spam site's Google rank or what? I clicked on one once and it was a perfectly boring referral site for kitchen furnishings in some UK town. I just imagine the site owner hit up some SEO company that promised to put him on the front page of some Google search and does it by just shotgunning spam links all over the internet regardless of audience until the Google bots raise their rank.

Thanks for again removing the nuked posts from the visibility of the displayed threads count. I'm sure it's just as annoying to have to fix all this crap as it is to see it, but we appreciate the effort tremendously!

Yther ore.

The guy spamming search rankings, kitchen spam, hookers, and fake passports are all the same individual / group operating out of India near as I can tell. The "buisinesses" in the UK are all registered to people with distinctly India sounding names or to addresses or phone numbers residing in India. I think that they are hitting every forum on earth hoping for exactly a large pile of links to stay up. Judging from a quick search, in most instances it seems to work well for them. These idiots in particular seem to have an entire ISP's worth of bogus IP addresses to work with, lots of fake phone numbers, and apperently large scale access to illegal materials such as counterfiet currency and entry documents. Near as I can tell we are being targetted by one of the lesser, somewhat stupid branches of D-company. The fact that they keep hitting everywhere would indicate to me that there are enough idiots out there actually clicking and attempting to buy their crap that they feel it is worth the legal risk.

You're welcome! Killed off about 700 threads this morning, and there are still another 300 or so that need to be purged. I really need a "ban, and then remove the crap out of all posts from the lists" button, but one does not exist at this time, so that part is manual. I treat it like a game. Only 1,200,340 until the next level up!
