A really silly, possibly worthless question XDFollow

I wasn't sure where to put this, but yup.

Anyway, I was curious as to how the Database sites were created. I don't want any "step-by-step" answers. Was there a software or program used? A "create your database now!" site? Code?

To me it seems like it would be a good way to organize my notes as a writer, and a game designer.

So yup, there's my "silly, possibly" worthless question!

The databases were created in the free Mysql database server software and grew with the needs of the site. The earliest one was the everquest Bestiary, which had fields for the various mob characteristics in game (location, type, zone, name, picture, etc) Eventually tables for user logins and forums and everything else were added. It was all pretty much manual coding and setup.

To do something similar these days the easiest method is to buy web hosting with an already configured database server, then build your tables, then wither program the frontend or put one of the existing Php content managemenet systems in place.
