What are your New Year's Resolutions?

Mine are:

1. Go back to college in order to actually do something with my life that involves enough money to live and not hating my job.

2. Attitude adjustment. I'm just in a vile mood too much of the time, and even I'm sick of it.*

Not going to bother with the health angle. I've already started drinking water the majority of the time and I do enough "weight lifting" at work.

*This one might be impossible, being that I'm bi-polar and moodiness comes with the territory, but dammit I'm going to try.

Hopefully no deaths in the family this year. Last year I had two. A better job is way up there, my current one is sucking the life right out of me.

I haven't given much thought to resolutions, since I usually never keep them, but here are a few ideas...

Try and quit smoking. Again. Bah...
Start and actually keep a savings account
Be more active

Can't think of anymore right now, kinda tired. Oh yeah! Get more sleep.

1) Quit Smoking. (18 hours and counting down..)
2) Get my taxes/accounting in order.
3) Get a new house. (Either tearing this one down, and replacing it, or moving to a new one)

I'll be happy when I accomplish #1 this year. The rest is gravy.

1. Fix up the house.
2. Laugh at the company I use to work for when it folds.
3. Pick up our daughter from China.
4. Get in better shape.

Illia and Smash, in regards to giving up nicotine here's a nice trick that worked for me. First I got strep throat and was so deathly ill that I didn't have the energy to reach over for my fix. After I got better a week later the though of having a sore throat due to nicotine made me ill just thinking about it. Before I knew it a month had gone by and the urges had subsided enough so that I only wanted to mildly strangle people instead of outright kill them. Granted strep throat isn't fun but it werked fer mi.

Come over and cough on me then? I'm really not sure how I go about getting Strep Throat, but I'll keep "nasty annoying disease" under consideration for my bag of tricks.

I quit for two days once when I had a severe repitory infection.

Boy, that first smoke on the third day though... was worth the small amount of blood I coughed up shortly after.

My goals are as follows,

...wait this thread sounds familiar. Didn't we do this already?

I'd like to steal one, though...

2. Laugh at the company I use to work for when it folds.

I've been predicting the downfall of the old biz for the past four years. And with the proliferation of cablemodem access, it looks to be not far off now!

New Years Resolutions:

1) Finish the Nursery.
2) Find a new job.
3) Start writing again.
4) Steal the laugh at old company one.

As to the smoking thing, my wife and I used to smoke like chimneys. She quit after 10 days in the ICU. I quit to be supportive. I cheated though. I now chew like a fiend. :)

GL with them all, you all.

I managed to quit smoking for exactly 25 minutes.

Better luck next time, I guess.

Moreover: it is now officially forbidden to smoke at work in Holland.
Rack -9 degrees Celcius and standing outside with your colleagues.

Believe I'll have to go with the same one from last year and try and procrastinate less. Kinda self defeating when I put off trying too much, yeah?

Already broke #6. But the !@#$%^& ficus was in the way!!! I have no problem with them if they are outside, but as soon as I trip over them, it's all over...

Now about #3...

Kao, do you live alone? Just curious cause last time I checked house plants couldn't move by themselves. Give your poor leafy brothers a break and don't kick them just because you put them in a walk-way!

Just saying. ;)

On a side note, I had a friend with a Dalmation that used to have some sort of weird sexual relationship with her ficus tree. It was a female dog, and would walk VERY slowly under the branches so they were just barely touching its back. This would go on for about 20 minutes. It was ... disturbing.

Yes, I do currently reside alone, but I think the plants are walking on their roots. That or my unusually large feet could be to blame for snagging the pots all the time. Very good for squishing the odd spider though.

That dalmation scares me now.

Something I just realized and is even more scary is the dog's name was Dede. I wonder if her last name was Nickerson?
