I support the man's claim in every respect. However, I have a question. Why do some of you agree that it takes both parents' consent to create a child, but only takes the woman's decision to terminate a pregnancy?

Because noone should be forced to have a living creature inside them for nine months against their will, dictating how they can behave and influencing their health.

That's the general feeling behind it I think. I think it would be the same were it men that could carry children.

Because it does take two people to create a child, no matter how you go about it.

Pregnancy is a lengthy and expensive biological ordeal and abortion is an invasive medical procedure. While it'd be swell if both parties could claim equal status, the biological realities are such that the female carries the much heavier burden in either event.

I've seen various ideas and proposals for plans where the male could legally "opt-out" in an event where the woman insists on carrying the child to term. While I'm not sure if I agree with them either, it's a much more logical track to take than demanding physical rights over the woman's body.

Hmm. The "teenager" comment was an attempt at humor.

I have no moral high ground or agenda. I just love kids.

Does he have the right to do what he's doing? Evidently, yes. Just stating I'd not do the same.
