Like most things in life a quick google image search with the filter off will answer your question. Oh and don't do it at work...

I'm not even sure during which stage of my internet life I learned the naughty meaning, but it must have been early on.

ITT varus implies that gays are highly educated, as only educated people become attorneys.

Sorry to disappoint you there Varus but alas we can't be BFF's at your local nambla meeting. Nor will I like to see pictures of your most recent boy toy. I prefer my partner to be old enough to have a drink with and enjoy the finer things in life like okra orchestral pieces and not be required to worry about getting them home so they can get enough sleep before they have to go back to elementary school. To each their own I suppose.

Since Varus is from Tennessee, I thought it may be for Dolly Parton. His way of admitting he's one of the biggest boobs in the state.

It's a good thing you're this transparent. If you had a pair of brain cells you could rub together to get those neural synapse to fire for a moment you might actually be convincing.

Not at all, Hitler was influenced mostly by his Christian values of Jew hating and unquestioning devotion to the Pope. He was a good little Catholic. Smiley: schooled

Erm, Hitler's mother was Catholic. Hitler himself sent priests to the concentration camps.

Thousands of Christian clergy were killed by the ***** either because of a Jewish background (as in the case of Edith Stein), or as part of the ****'s campaign against the Polish intelligentsia; others were killed in a general campaign against the Catholic Church in Poland. In the countries in which Roman Catholic bishops and even Catholics themselves had openly protested and attacked **** policies. For instance, in the Netherlands and Poland, where bishops and priests had protested the deportation of Jews, the clergy was either threatened with deportation themselves and kept in custody (as in the case of German bishop Clemens von Galen), or directly deported to concentration camps (as in the cases of the Dutch Carmelite priest Titus Brandsma and Polish Fr. Maximilian Kolbe, who was later canonized). The Catholic Church was particularly suppressed in Poland: between 1939 and 1945, an estimated 3,000 members (18%) of the Polish clergy, were murdered; of these, 1,992 died in concentration camps. In the annexed territory of Reichsgau Wartheland it was even more harsh: churches were systematically closed and most priests were either killed, imprisoned, or deported to the General Government. Eighty per cent of the Catholic clergy and five bishops of Warthegau were sent to concentration camps in 1939; 108 of them are regarded as blessed martyrs

The Catholic church in Germany declared a national day of prayer on his birthday, didn't they? The Pope at the time also refused to condemn Hitler's actions, something the church recently apologised for.

Anti-Semitism was the official policy of most churches until a few years after the war. Not saying the official policy of the majority of Christian churches directly lead to Hilter's policies, but they certainly had some impact.

Did they? My brief search states that Cardinal Adolf Bertram (head guy in Germany) sent him birthday wishes in 1939. That would have been in April, about five months before WWII. I don't know how unusual it is for the church's national heads to send well-wishes to the head of state.

No one at the time was seriously condemning their actions. Remember how the US opened their gates to all the oppressed Jewish people during the 1930s?

Oh, that's right, they didn't. They grabbed some scientists and the rest could get bent. Of course, the best soundbite to describe the situation came from Australia when asked to allow Jewish immigration:
Quote:
It will no doubt be appreciated also that as we have no real racial problem, we are not desirous of importing one by encouraging any scheme of large-scale foreign migration

My husband and I are in the DINK category but we're straight. We're also not lawyers.

Take the hierarchy of the Catholic Church, for example. Rampant paedophilia and massive denial/coverup scandals? Might as well be a Big-10 football program!

DINK is really the commonly accepted term for couples without kids? It sounds like a clever acronym that lets someone use a pejorative without technically doing so.

I'll eat some crow now. I just looked it up, and it is a legitimate term. Sorry, it came from Varus, and I made a false assumption.
